Wait, in that case is that even that important? Each meister has killed tons more in the duration of the series lol.
It would've been much more of an achievement if it was actually just for Gundams lol.

Although, we dont actually know that ali killed ragna harvey. Plus we dont know if that person ali was talking to over voice link in his car was alex corner, so ali working for corner is iffy. Maybe i missed a point in the show and its sort of confirmed? Im willing to concede it on obvious grounds anyway.
Assuming seed'ness, there's a totally acceptable possibility that ali survived the gundams complete and utter disintegration around the cockpit area. Happens everyday...in anime...
And as for why Lockon...i think his lack of problems is the very reason he gets to die, plus all his bonds with the other CB people as well as his revenge story. If he had lots of problems, they cant kill him off yet, that would be character plot suicide. We also know just about everything important about him now. End character development. I could say alleluja is the same, but he lacks two more reasons.
Since he's well liked by everyone else, especially feldt, setsuna, haro even, it makes such a massive impact. i wonder if it would be as profound if setsuna died, even though he's the main character. Third reason, revenge story. Sweetens the deal, that in the end he avenges his family. On reflection, i think he had it coming since he got his eye busted, should have seen it then. Especially when we see ali gundamjacking.
I have one question out of all this though. His flashback doesnt show his supposed twin brother. Does he have one, or not?
Also, head over to menclave's site, www.mymenclave.com, watch that st pats day vid, haha.

Ali is alive, that's a no brainer.
and remember that the Gundams actually haven't killed many people, they left he pilots alive for most of their interventions, they even said it.
so then all they've killed is a few GN-X's.
Ali killed the guys who killed the GN-X's.
Ali is the second best pilot in the series.

Hm, i dont disagree with all your points, but the 4 original meisters killed their fair share early on with in the series. Even if they held back, they arent all kira yamatos. You can see alot of flags, tierans, enacts and other stuff blow up pretty convincingly...
The throne meisters have quite an insane kill scores even if most of them are helpless sods who get in the way.
About ali, im pretty sure you're right. Even without re-watching, i think i can be sure the cockpit wasnt hit now, or else it wouldnt have been able to re-aim at lockon after it got hit.

Personally, i believe he's really dead, and im hoping that sunrise doesnt get it in its head that lockon should come back ala mu la flaga (whom still holds one of the most miraculous comebacks ever in my mind...either lost or damaged helmet, plus utter disintegration by positron beam. Not to mention shrapnel that would tear apart his suit as well as his apparently adamantium/mithril body) . I keep reminding myself...well this aint gundam seed.
Whatever i have against fukada, sunrise did pressure him to bring mu back. So, lets hope it doesnt happen.
So, besides the twin question, ive got another one. Why doesnt lockon's helmet blow out, when its cracked like that....thats got to be damn tough material. At present, we dont have anything that wont blow if it cracks.

With only 2 episodes left in season 1 I see zero chance of Ali coming back. It would really served no purpose that I can see especially since they are introducing a new mobile armor. I mean really whats he going to pilot, they are going to downgrade him from a gundam to a GN-X 2 episodes before the series ends? Then there is maybe a chance that he would come back for season two but like you said Revan Lockons death was made out to be meaningful and if Ali came back it would kind of take all the meaning out of it.
But I agree the shot didnt hit the cockpit so if they wanted to it is possible I just think its unlikely.

They've got one of the Throne's bases, they'd surely have replacement parts there.
Anyway, just because it makes a death meaningless, doesn't mean they won't do it. Daryl's death was pretty meaninful.
He didn't avenge Howard or anything.

I dont think ali using zwei again is terribly likely. He has no character attachment to it at all, he just thinks of it as 'some gundam'. So, he doesnt easily get associated with it like the way, say, soma pieries is with her tau 2. Her old association still exists in mind even with her piloting a GN-X.
Btw, i thought there were 26 episodes? So there would be 3 left.

Nope only 25 episodes in the first season.
Lockon said: "Don't worry, I wont die."
Maybe Lockon's twin brother will pilot the dynames now and in haros eyes it would be like hes still alive.

Ali is still alive, although I doube the Zwei is going to be used again anytime soon. no matter how much spare parts you have, I doubt that they'd actually have an entire lower torso section. since even Dynames had to go back to bade for full repairs, and Laguna being dead means that there probably wont be any more Throne parts made. but yeah, Trans Am system having its draw-back puts a bit more balance into the system.
Hmm, how come Lockon didnt use his Trans Am system? or did he, I forgot.
Lockon could come back as some sort of a Miracle, although his Meister days would be over, seeing how much damage he probably would've taken.
I agree. Mwu's comeback is really unexplainable. he lost his helmet, in Space. HOW THE HELL DID HE LIVE!?!?!

Lockon has a crappy flashblack and little speech while Daryl is like "I'M A UNION FLAG FIGHTER!" and suicides into Dynames.
That is at least a bajillion gazillion times more badass then what Lockon did. fuckin' emo.

Simple he has a second helmet under the one he was already wearing
Just kidding.... idk really, but it really got me jacked when I saw it in destiny.

Anyway, the helmet floating in space got edited out of the dvd and special edition versions. Thats still friggin unconvincing...its a damn positron cannon that vaped strike, its shield and all its armor but it cant kill poor mu?
God, to me daryl was so...pitiful. Apparently, union flag fighters commit suicide and yell out 'flag' when they're in a GN-X. Whether or not he lived, using his words, he would never have been able to face up to graham again.

Flag Fighter not using his Flag, contradiction much? He could've done what Grahm did, since he's still going to use his Flag.
hahaha Patrick got beaten by a rock, and floats into space, still alive, but pretty hilarious lol

To me, him daryl dying like that makes the whole thing taste sour. Its as if the whole idea of being a flag fighter is to die in a blaze of glory.
Whatever he is at heart, there's still the fact that graham specifically refuses to use anything but a flag. So i bet daryl feels he's betraying him and howard somehow. That makes his death pretty shallow.
