We'll try to fix that in Beta 4.0 (not sure if it will work, though) :p

"Well, I can't argue with that - modding IS hard. But what would have become of games like Starcraft, Warcraft 3, Dungeon Siege, Half-Life 1-2, Neverwinter Nights and BfME 1-2 if we, modders, weren't there ? They would have long been forgotten. Modding is hard, but it's an honorable thing." - MorrisB

I was the happiest person on the planet when, after figuring out there was something wrong with the instructions and correcting it, the WotE splash screen appeared.
But then my worst nightmare came true
It was that @#$!%^# game.dat error again!
I wont bother putting the whole thing since 3 quarters of it is incomprehendable, but it was about
'data\ini\evilfaction\structures\angmar\angmarmewlipswamp.ini'
Could someone explain what I did wrong?

-I have patch 2.01
-Instead of putting the .big file in "C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USERNAME]\Application Data\My The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king Files" I put it in "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king" or something like that

Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me!
A day may come when the courage of men fails; when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship; but it is not this day. An hour of wars and shattered shields when the age of men comes crashing down; but it is not this day! This day we fight!
By all that you hold dear, on this good earth; I bid you stand! Men of the West!

Takamahri, Its required to be placed inside "Application Data\My The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king Files". It wont work inside "Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king".

If you bother to follow installation instructions then you won't have a problem. If you try it your way putting stuff in different places of course it won't work.

Ok, Ok, It's just that when I put it in "Application Data\ My The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king Files" it ran the normal game, but when I put it in the other place, it would at least show the splash screen. I guess I must've done something wrong .
Trying again right now.

That's because you were overwriting the splash screen. From the application files location you have to launch it with the shortcut to enable the mod and show the splash screen. If you are playing 3.2, make sure to go to the shortcuts properties and change the target directory from beta3bugfixed to beta32bugfixed.

Yes! That's it! The target path said beta3bugfixed at the end! It works now! Thank you, Kyross!

I downloaded the Wars of the East Mod. I read though the README and did everything it told me to. However when i load the game, not only does the Icon not show a helmet (it's a white sheet of paper), it also dosent load the mod. I checked in the skirmish and the goblins were still avalible and other heros where not there. I also must mention that i couldn't find the [Username] Folder or the Rise of the witch king folder. Because of that I created them myself.

Ooh, shoudl have read through this topic for a solution first. Neeever create the folder, you have to go into your computers folder properties and make it so it shows hidden folders most likely. THis is the saame folder that holds your profile data and things like downloaded maps, plus game configurations so creating a new one doesn't accomplish much.

True. Unfortunately, this is a bug which we couldn't fix so far. The new units/heroes have all been converted to War of the Ring mode, but the whole thing is unstable (as you've experienced already).

If everyone said it one, they said it a thousand times: You put it in: "C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USERNAME]\Application Data\My The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king Files" no exceptions!
