To Scryer, as I said before you can still be stealthy with a short double handed sword. You could have a two foot long handle, and a one foot long blade, yes I know it sounds weird but it's historical and it works. The whole assassin guy with two knives is a bunch of made up movie stuff, it is extremely stupid to use just knives, all real stealth warriors prefer a short sword (including myself).

It may be historical and it may work, but it doesn't make a difference to the gameplay. And I truly don't think that it's going to. I don't think that the gameplay calls for Mirkwood warriors to use short swords because it doesn't change the stats. This would be just "Icing on the cake" so to speak.

And regarding your whole secret identity as Istari Lord; If you want to be hated, start insulting and bashing people. Ideas are welcome here even though they all get contradicted by someone ;) .

Okay folks, let's not regurgitate everything that we've already said (yes, I am found guilty of it too). I'm going to suggest that we should move onto something else.

Yeah, like if Arnor should get two new Lindon units ;)

P.S. Could someone tell me how to the Mirkwood Knife-Fighters with the Mirkwood Wardens from War in the East, or better yet tell me how to give them a double handed sword instead of twin knives? I mean after the version with the new Elves comes out of coarse :p

And honestly...this is fairly pointless. I'm really gonna go in game and play mirkwood but be upset every time I see basic soldiers because they're not using the weapon I wanted more or the one that makes most sense to lore...

And jaguar...yes ;) read one of the tutorials on the3rdage.net...probably adding morthond bowmen into your mod, or one of those :p

If I can find one that will tell me how you can do the above.

Anyways, back on topic. What about the possibility of some Lindon units ;)

Well, first off, sorry if I seemed a little rude. I did not mean to appear as such.

Second, none of us can be sure of what rob has in store for the mod, except for rob himself. Maybe there will be Lindon Units, maybe there won't be, all I can say is wait and see.

Purchasable units/subfaction for elves? Almost definatly no.

Summon for elves/arnor? Much more likely.

Units for arnor? Even more likely.

I've been telling you there was too forever :shiftee2:

Speculate away, but it is unlikely that we will add anything from Lindon in quite a while. They might be a potential area to explore for the elven inn units, but that isn't gonna be finished for the public beta, so don't expect Lindon in that.

At the moment, our priorities are getting what we have currently into as near balanced and complete state as possible, and finishing all the WIP artwork so that we can release a public beta, as we know you guys haven't had one in a long time, and you deserve it :shiftee2:

Once we get that done, we'll be working on the mirkwood buildings.

Yeah, but the vavalry are from Rivendell. What I want is some Lindon units :shiftee2:

I know that. the finished public won't be out for a couple years yet ;) In the update Rob said that Arnor would get new Elven units, since most of the current ones have been given to the Elven faction. I'm just trying to figure out what the new Elven units are gonna be :p
Yeah, I hate clicking on a unit, expecting a nice drawing, and then seeing a giant WIP ;)

At least you guys have the nice wip image :shiftee2: In the private version, it's a very bright saturated blue with giant white letter on it, so it stands out :p

And yes elven, I do know that ;)

Yes Mithlond is a part of Lindon, but why would all of Lindon's units come from the Grey Havens? That's like saying all of the U.S.'s military comes from New York City :p Mithlond makes up a small part of Lindon's overall military, not all of it.

Well we don't all have the private version do we :p

I hope that we all do :shiftee2:

Most of the army probably would be there, as it was the major population center. The rest I think were wanders(Correct me if I'm wrong), and would not likely be in the military.

You are forgetting Forlindon and Harlindon, both of which had a large population, mainly from unimportant towns. The Grey Havens has it's own units of Haven Sentries and Guards, meanwhile the rest of the country (Harlindon, Forlindon, Tower Hils, etc.) provided its own fighting force.
We all know Cirdan ruled the Grey Havens, while Gil Galad ruled Lindon. How would Gil Galad create the huge army he did with a bunch of wandering Elves, and why would Cirdan rule the main city in Lindon, don't you think the king would? So Mithlond being the only major population center in Lindon is out of the question.

Harlindon and Forlindon were regions, not cities.

Not to mention there were alot more elves during Gil-Galad's time. Most had either died in the Last Alliance or left by this time in history.
Besides, I like the name Mithlond better than Lindon
But if it will make you happy, change one. It really doesn't matter.
