Everyone gets corrupted.

I'd be interested to know what a corrupted Radagast would do. Gather a massive army of beasts and have them duke it out with each other or something :)

First post, hello everyone. I've lurked here for a while and have been playing the mod since RJ 1.05.06 came out.

About the Corruption, and even more specific, the effects of the ring. How does giving the ring to the Witch-King of Angmar accomplish any discernably different effect from giving it straight to Sauron? Wouldn't the Witch-King more or less BECOME Sauron if he used the Ring? I mean, the guy is his chief servant, directly invested with his will, and tasked to reunite the Ring with its make. I always assumed that if the Nazgul ever recovered the Ring that Morgul would simply slip it on and invoke Sauron's spirit into his flesh. Also, how could he possibly be Corrupted? He's already a direct instrument of Sauron's will. Same thing for the Mouth of Sauron.

Thoughts?

Mordor just takes it back to the fortress and gets sauron I think, they don't do the whole corruption business.

the nazgul, having little-to-no will of their own, would simply bring the ring back to their master. i cant really see any one of them putting it on beforehand.

The Nazgul have absolutely no will of their own. They are bound to the will of the ring and it's dark lord.

You know, I was thinking, all those Ring Heroes... I came up with something different.

As you gain the One Ring, and when you take it back to your Fortress, slowly your Power Points will increase. Every once in a while, you gain another Power Point. Not those Heroes. If you do this, then the Ring will have a bigger role then end game Heroes. You will be able to use the Ring's power. But for the good guys...Not sure that this is a good idea for them. For evil, this could work.

Im not too sure about changing the ring system ...but well,I think that when its done we all will say "why didnt they do it before" lol as usual big changes, and even more the news of a big change make us all wonder if what we have now will be better than the change...For now, all the things added in Rj have proven worthy, so I've got faith in this too!
...anyway, that could work yeah, but for evil factions.

Where the ring system in it's current stage, I like what the layout is for the alternative. I kind of disagree that Mordor units wouldn't get corrupted. As loyal as the Witch-King, Nazgul, and the Mouth of Sauron are for example, why not let them suffer from health loss, but at a slower rate.

nazgul and the like wont be corrupted because they will never wear the ring. the idea is that mordor heros will bring the ring back to the fortress and sauron will be buildable. the exact implementation of this is a bit hazy atm, but its similar to what it was before.

While that's true of the Nazgul, I doubt the Mouth of Sauron would give up the ring. He knows enough black arts to be able to use the ring, and is in the lot with Mordor merely to increase his own power. Perhaps Mordor should have their non-Nazgul heroes able to use the ring?

Mordor dont have a hero non-Nazgul powerful enough to bind the ring to this will. And the Mouth of Sauron is absolutly loyal to its master.

I like the idea of increase the power points..

What exactly would the difference be if the Witch-King (the most direct extension of Sauron's will) claimed the ring as opposed to Sauron himself? Wouldn't the WK effectively BECOME Sauron? I mean, how exactly does he give the ring to a disembodied flaming eye anyway? (Of coruse there's the debate that Sauron had some corporeal form during the WotR)

He can't claim it. He is a slave to the will of Sauron and the Ring. He has absolutely no free will.

And I'm pretty sure Sauron is there in a diiferent form besides his eye. :good:
After all, the wizards had to have something to fight (an evil SPIRIT necromancer) in Dol Guldor

And could somebody please make a list of what heroes can use the ring! It would be really helpful ;)

EDIT: yeah whoops, not amroth, guldor :p

It was said that black is the only color mightier than white. That would be a cool effect. Too bad you couldn't get SIM to say "I am Gandalf the Black!" sounding ominus and badass. (kind of like when he castigates Bilbo in FotR.)
