Yes, bridges were mentioned, and will be included.

Ah, I have assembled a list of all the possible locations (to the best of my knowledge) If, however, anyone thinks of another that they feel should be included, by all means, speak up! :p
additionally, the map list can be downloaded as an word doc from the first post of this thread.

All maps were my idea, except for those otherwise marked. If you see a map that was your idea, then speak up! :thumbsupsmiley: I probably just missed it by accident.
"Credit" indicates the mapper working on the map or who has completed the map. Names in blue are claimed maps; names in red mean that person is working on that map at present.
any map with an asterisk is claimed by my Head Mapper Eruceninde, but is liable to be released in the future.

I seriously want to take all the battle areas :p also if it's ok with you reealy wanna do Underland! The Silver Chair is one of my faves in the Narnia series and I have some good ideas on how to make a map for that location  I'm gonna be all secretive though and not give anything away until the go-ahead from Eruthiadwen on what maps I'm allowed to do and which ones I'm not :thumbsupsmiley:

Here's a couple more ideas.

Archenland itself: 6 players
Coast of Narnia: 2 players
Ettensmoor Castle: 3 players (where Eustace, Jill, and Puddleglum were almost made into pies)

Well, what's your opinion? I'll post more when I have time.

Archenland was added to the list. :)

Coast of Narnia? Could you explain more?

the "Ettensmoor Castle" was Harfang, and it was located further north, above Ettensmoor. And it was a city of giants. man-eating giants, of course! :thumbsupsmiley:

It could make for an interesting map. :p Players duke it out amidst a few giant-sized rooms? On the other hand, it would require the making of lots of new objects to make the map with.

anyone else have some thoughts on this one?

The Coasts of Narnia basically is... a coast map. Sea on one side, land where you fight. Pretty simple, eh? :p

Yeah, I think we've got enough maps to be starting with. We can make more as we go along, but It's kinda better to get all of these ones out of the way first, methinks! I had a couple of suggestions to make myself last night, but they seem to have been taken

The Coast of Narnia is the section of sand/coastland located just beneath the shadow of Cair Paravel and was the area on which Aslan and the four sons of Adam and daughters of Eve walked before his departure and the great war of the Narnians and the Telmarines. It was also the coast upon which these same two kings and two queens landed on their return to Narnia at the rising of Prince Caspian the great.

Hope that was helpful to everyone who was confused! ;)
Sgt. Angel

Btw, Cair Paravel should be two maps: one when it is in it's full and non-destroyed form and one in it's destroyed form. I find it worth noting that both could possibly include the 'Coast of Narnia', however the size of Cair Paravel itself and the lands around it pretty much rule this idea out, it'll definately have to be split into two maps...

Edit: Oh and just one more question: does this mod cover the events of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe upwards or does it also include the Horse and his Boy and that other one that I can't remember the name of with the evil uncle and the yellow and green rings? Because you could make a NICE map of the world between worlds with all those pools, you really could. :p

I think you pretty settled it in my mind, Sarge. We'll take what we got, for now.

There is two Cair Paravels. The LWW version might be more like a fortress map, while the Prince Caspian one will probably be a normal map with the players fighting amidst the ruins.

If you'll take a look at my previous post will the list of maps, you'll notice that I have been updating it with the new additions. You'll see both Cair Paravels, and the Horse and His Boy is represented by no less than five maps.

The Magician's Nephew really doesn't have any Narnian places. It occurs in between London, Charn, and one place (mostly) in Narnia. The only location (good for an entire map) that could be derived would be the Walled Garden (where Digory got the apple). I'm hesitant to do the Wood Between the Worlds because that isn't in the Narnian universe, per se. Both the Garden and the Wood will be a future concept for now.

Holy cow! "(Suggested By Ithilien)" is on over half of those! I feel so important now...

Oh yeah, I have another comment to make. My older sister and dad, who, although not really modders or interested in this game, were kind enough to help me suggest locations and filled me in on some of the finer points of the locations (such as the villas in Tashbaan). Much thanks to them! ;)

Soooooo... anything going on?

It never fails to amazes me the amount of ideas in the BFME modding community that come up, die, come up with someone completely different, die and then come up again. Not trying to be a dampener but why does this constantly happen? And why are there so many mods with massive potential that will never be finished. When will the cycle ever end!

Let me clear up a few things.

if, by "come up with someone different", you mean the mod got a new leader, you're very wrong. I am, and have been, the mod leader since the very beginning.

Second, one of the main reasons this thread "hibernates" (as I think of it) is because no more discussion was needed at the time, so everything fell quiet. Then something new popped up, we talked, and when we were done, it went back into hibernation.

Right now, work is at a temporary setback because my fellow modder Folca was first involved in a car wreck, spent some time in a coma, came home and found his comp fried, and has had to get a new one. not to mention redo all the work he had gotten done! ;)

I know how you feel in that it seems these great mods never come to pass. That's one reason why this mod won't. I personally won't let it. ;)

Damn straight. That's how I feel about my TBoFA map as well!

Because we're human. Things like that happen sometimes, at least some of the mods on these forums got completed. :p

When will the cycle ever end!

With Jeth's Narnia mod. :mad2:

Second, one of the main reasons this thread "hibernates" (as I think of it) is because no more discussion was needed at the time, so everything fell quiet. Then something new popped up, we talked, and when we were done, it went back into hibernation.

Or in the case of me I just don't come online for a couple of days 'cause I have exams to do but there hasn't been a single time yet when I haven't come back online and been flooded with PM's and messages on my TBoFA topic. It's almost like unlocking a door; if the mapper isn't there, neither are the followers. ;)

Right now, work is at a temporary setback because my fellow modder Folca was first involved in a car wreck, spent some time in a coma, came home and found his comp fried, and has had to get a new one. not to mention redo all the work he had gotten done!

Ouch. I was wondering why I haven't seen him online recently... that's nasty. ;) My sincere hopes that he'll be able to piece all his work back together without any problems... ;)

Anyway, on another note Jeth, just wanted to ask I'm going to be working on the UNDER ME map, do you have any descriptions/suggestions/guidelines you'd like me to follow? :mad2:
Feels good to be doing some BFME 1 mapping again, just like the old days...

Thanks

the UNDER ME map....
first, the official name of it is The Ruined City, so please actually put that as the filename! ;) but you're free to refer to it in any way here on the forums.

and that reminds me:ATTENTION EVERYONE! I have updated the map list again, now with player amounts and camp/castle designations.

The Ruined City is a 6-player map with camps. Notable features will include the Ruined City itself, of course, and the mystic inscription UNDER ME. I'd really like it if a unit could actually walk into the letters. The letters should only be sunken to where the top of a human unit's head is equal or so with the normal ground level.

A small piece of Harfang's wall on a side of the map would be good too.

The only thing left that I should tell you is my mental image of it is pretty much comes from the PBS version of the Silver Chair, so if you have that, watch that section of the movie.

Good luck! ;)
