Yes, they will. The Sons of Man are essentially the militia-cum-police of the Maughold and they are generally to be found wherever lawmen might be necessary. They wear golden armour (enchanted to be hardcore rather than squishy and useless) and carry swords and shields. When working within the Maughold, they carry short swords and wear buckler-type shields, but when they go into open combat in the field they carry long semi-polearm swords (kinda like a falx, but more like the kind of swords the elves have in LotR (see below.) They switch in their small shields for full-body gear with twin points at the bottom for a) stabbing people and b) digging into the ground to make an effective shield wall when facing a cavalry charge. The big shields are curved and semi-circular at the top and taper down to the points and have a solid gold boss in the centre of the 'circle'.

And think this but in gold for their city-wear:

Concerning that post... Byron wouldn't have smashed anyone in the head, due to the fact he was nursing a painful shoulder wound and was explicitly ordered by Astariel to scuttle away.

Otherwise, great post!

Well, you know, i wanted to try and involve everyone, and i thought byron would be fitting for the one to punch out on of the assassins. His other arm works, so lets just say he used that one. And the Sons of Man came in before he could scuttle out of the fray, and then pushed them all back into the circle.

And glad it was all ok. The sons of man sound pretty cool so its nice to be bringing them in. It makes sense to bring them in and i like it when things make sense
inconsistencies and stuff have to be one of my pet peeves, in anything. I like going in depth with storylines(learning a whole lot about them), so when movies/games/etc have a whole bunch of inconsistencies or plot holes, etc. it can be quite annoying.

The Sons of man have been basically forgotten, and thats a nothing thing i usually don't like. So atleast they played some role in the storyline, even if it ends there (although i would hope it doesn't).

Fair enough. It does fit his personality...

I'm sure that if our group could arrange an audience with the King (maybe by one King asking to meet with another, Copa?), we could get some help in the pending Paladin invasion.

Actually, that's a decent idea. It might be worth Tom revealing himself and pledging allegiance to the King of Envael against the Paladins in return for assistance. What say you, Copaman? Do you think Tom might be willing to reveal his true identity in our time of need? The Paladins are almost at the gates!

Oh, and the Sons of Man are definitely not done. They will be heavily involved in Chapter 4.

EDIT: Forgot to say, SWG is right about the inconsistencies. There are a lot of them here because my vision of Arsencia has slowly developed and changed and overwritten the things I said at first. So, as a general rule, if you find conflicting opinions from my writing, go with the later one as the truth, because that'll be the one from my more developed understanding of the world.

I do not think I will post anymore with Varin, for I'd like him to disappear untill the duel with Zhar and I do not have so much spare time on my hands for another month (exams).

If you need / want me to, I'll see what I can do. :p

Maybe, since Rindar was passed out drunk during the whole fight sequence, he could come and try to help you out. :p

Pm me for that :p

edit:

Dark_warden: I'd rather have it that you do not stalk Varin in any way. He has nothing to do with your character and your story has nothing to add to mine and vice-versa, yet. I do like tiny encounters, like your character running into Varin and Azuvas but ignores them, but I do not agree with this.
Excuse me for being a total dick.

Thank you.

Sorry guys, I got called in for a few days' work before Christmas, so I'm way busy at the moment, hence why I'm only just getting around to posting at midnight. It may not be until after Christmas itself that I get around to shifting this along, so don't panic. I haven't forgotten, I'm just gainfully employed.

Hey, I'd like to join, but I'd rather not have to read though all that text. Does someone want to come up with a place for me that allows my character not to really know what has happened, and fill me in on a few things I need to know to get started?
Greetings, community.

Yeah, new members are always welcome. We could just give you a basic overview here if you want, so you know what you need to know and then can get into more of the details later on as you RP.

It's easier to integrate with your character if you don't know the background for the rest of us, because your character doesn't know it either. The more you have in common with the character, the easier it is to write. Unless you feel like a challenge, like how I made my character female. :p

We'd be happy to have you on board, though. If you want to discuss a character idea before posting it up in the real character subforum, feel free to PM it to me or to discuss a few details in here, and we'll do what we can to help.

This is the only part I have a problem with. If he agreed to an alliance, that would be fine. But taking the King of Envael as my master? No thanks :p

EDIT: Sorry for taking so long. Holidays and whatnot.

Well, whatever the equivalent is between kings, one of whom is of clear political superiority but the other refuses to admit it. Is there an etiquette there?

Bad news for Arsencia, chums (though awesome news for me). I'm heading out in a couple of hours on a three-day bender to ring in the new decade, so I'll see you dudes (and dudettes, if we're to remember that FZM is secretly a girl) next year. Happy New Year all round.
