Careful. This link is DANGEROUS. Do NOT click it. This one, however, is fine.

Massive post is massive.

And now it's finished. Anyone like it, if you actually read it?

Vort, go ahead and godmod me into the Council meeting :)

No time for the council meeting! Battle is about to be joined! Dudes to the walls! And that means you, everyone.

I had made up a fairly large post from the view of some general who was somewhat hopeless and feeling fairly useless and sorry for himself, but then wasn't happy with how it went so i deleted it all, and now am not in the mood to make another post :shiftee2:

Maybe tomorrow though.

Well, I had a whole post typed up in the Fast Reply box and then my mom did something that froze the computer. :shiftee2:

I've had that happen to me before. It really blows. Know what would be awesome? Some kind of option to save a draft of a post you're working on, so that you can come back to it later.

Seeing as how it's like 3AM for Vort right now, I'd say just go for it. Kinda boring to say "we just waited for the enemy to scale the wall. ((vort post nao plz))". Douknowatimean?

Rawr, too late for me. I'll post an awesome battle scene tomorrow :shiftee2:

If Vort or anyone feels that last post is too godmoddy, just say so :) though I'm quite proud of it.

It looks fine to me :shiftee2: but you forgot to include the fact that I've got exactly one hundred and five deathknleve sitting a few hundred meters south of the north gate to the second ring :)

So the Variag are divided, huh? Interesting. Strikes me that Harald Hardrada the Second is exactly the kind of man who would relish the chance to fight against a meld or five, possibly at the same time...

Anyway, you guys, feel free to kick off the fighting without me. It's snowing again here, but if there isn't enough to get me another day off work tomorrow then I probably won't have time to post again for a few days. You all know how a siege plays out, so be realistic. Winter Vayu's not exactly Napoleon, but he knows what he's doing, and he's very well prepared.

Oh, one more thing which I can't remember if I already said: the Maughold was built to resist attack, both magical and physical. The walls are enchanted to rebuff any form of magical assault, so Vayu can't just go around blowing shit up with stray thunderbolts. Hopefully that'll make it a bit more interesting.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Would have been better if it was up to the mages to erect barriers.

That way its more a fight, as 'vayu's mages attack the automatic barriers while we hope they hold' doesn't allow as much dramatics as 'the maugholds mages strained under the relentless magical assault on the barriers they resurrected, some of the poor magickers blacking out as the strain becomes to much, and so on'.

But whatever.

Hey, he can still go around fireballing people on the walls, he just can't blow up the walls themselves with magic. There's still a need for the Maughold mages to help defend the city. You're supposed to look for loopholes in these things. Think like a master criminal!

No offense man, but you've gotta find a way for your character to find our group and stuff first. I noticed that you're like, RPing all by yourself. Just saying "oh I did this" in your posts and it has no relevant meaning to anyone else.

If you want to be included in an RP you've got to interact with the other members. Otherwise, you're better just writing a story by yourself.

Not necessarily. Taralom's character hasn't been interacting with any of the rest of us (except Winter Vayu, through me), but he soon will be. Dark Warden doesn't need to get involved with us immediately. Maybe his character could save somebody's life during a battle in the near future? Maybe for now you could just have your character on the wall near to one of our lot, or in the courtyard where Tom and his deathknelven army are waiting? Although I wouldn't have thought the Deathknelf would need any help protecting their king, so probably go for up on the walls.

Heh, no, they aren't there to help me :p

King Vassignar called in a favor and I just thought it'd be nice to have some deathknelve inside the city before the siege. In case Vayu does break the second ring.
