good job , what other weapons do the termys have?

Often seems a Chapter has a particular special weapon that defines them - yet wiht SW it's quite hard to work out what that is. If I had to choose, I'd prob go Melta. Though truly the Axe is their signature weapon.

As they have specialized into assaulting, ill go for Assault cannon

True the BA do that with the Baal Pred - a way of thinning the enemy ranks, but it's not really an assault weapon in the sense of getting in close - it works at range. Basically our SW have access to all types of special weapons in different units, but we've kept the high-tech plasma to a minimum, focused more on bolt weapons and CC weapons, limiting the ranged flexibility of some units (fair given that they are all rounders in cc and at range).

I just had sick idea: what if we make model for Thrall, instead of using normal servitor? More feral and spacewolfish model:

Yes quite cool - we do have a special thrall model - and funnily enough it does have that drill arm - since it is basically a slighty remodelled SoB servitor. Also has a new ability...

It's an old necromunda pitslave - not the best GW model line agreed - but useful for illustrative purposes.

Unwrapping comes first - and it's a bloody pain! But I've nearly unwrapped the Blood Claw - and then its painting time!

Welcome Goosey, take a gander at the progress tracker to see how far along we are! Hard to convey how far along if you're not familiar with the process. However, suffice to say models are now being painted, coding is well under way. Still a long long way to go though - animating and synkills follow after painting. It's all a great deal of work. Don't expect anything playable in 2009 (well, maybe an Alpha with a lot of placeholders, maybe). 2010 will be the year of the wolf.

The amazing thing is I was standing where you are about 4 monthss ago. So if you're willing to learn - you CAN help, and the more hands we have, the faster this can get done.

Now, we could really use a FX editor. How about having a look at some of the tutorials on relicforums and learning how to do that? I'm told it's fairly easy. Do you have any artistic abilities?

Hrrmm..

1) That LP is kinda "fat" for what are small strat/crit/relic points on a map. Ya sure it looks ok ingame? Did you export the model long before just to see how it'll look planted around the flag pole?

2) Colour scheme seems.. hrrmm.. colourful? Almost Harlequin-like. I'm seeing too many different colours rather than a single dominating colour like light-blue surrounded then by accents.

No I haven't checked yet Thud, though it was modelled around existing SM LP models. It isn't going to be particularly large, so the biggest problem may be that I'll need to increase the height of the middle to cover the existing console thingy on the points.

Ah, I wondered when someone would say the H-word. :p Well colour of course is a matter of taste. The SW I grew up with were quite colourful, more so than their recent plastic model range. Consider the insignia of Blood Claws and the like (yellow and red features heavily). But bottom line is, I've planned the 5 colour palette to be team-colourable, so people can tailor it as they wish. This on view here is Ragnar's colour scheme - grey primary, yelllow secondary, dark brown trim (leather etc) red weapons, and blue details. Were one playing Grimnar it would be grey, black, black, black and maybe green? That would produce significantly more sombre models. Also the yellow and black warning motiff has been a common feature of SW livery for a long time, and that also adds to the colour. :)

I seem to remember the Witch Hunters LPs were very big - and although a bit out of step they certainly worked and looked good.

As long as your avoid the temptation of trying to change the actual strat/crit/relic point size your ok. If you do, then on each map the strat/crit/relic points (before you cap them) would be off so you'd see the ground decal look wrong. The reason for the WH_AS team to have done this, originally, was to reduce the tearing size of their LPs so their Sentinel builder would NOT tear into the LP as it was being built. In the end, its better to tear then to have all map points look off kilter. :umad:
