Problems with Contra 007

The General's challenge and campaign buttons don't work! Yet the maps for them are still there, as I can play them using mission start saves from 006. Are they incomplete or somthing?


1) Missions and challenge mode were disabled because of many bugs on these maps. I decided do not to debug them in order to release 007 faster. But I hope that I fix them sooner or later. Probably they will be available in next version. But believe me - map debugging is great pain. You must make a fix and play the mission to check it. Then see what is wrong, fix it and play again and again. You need to complete one mission dozens of times before it is debugged. Challenge mode debugging can take some months.


In Contra 006, I have been unable to play Campaign mission 3 due to a crash whenever it attempts to start it, I believe I am/was not the only one with this issue.
I see that crash is now fixed, as once I try to load the mission using the auto-save of USA 3.. the mission starts.
I won't spoil anything of the mission itself, of course.
I have been unable to complete the 'unknown mission objective', but it was playable. good thing, crash fixed, well done.

We wish you the best of luck debugging and completing missions, if that's what you're doing ^_^
I can remember I got thrilled the first time I played 006' mission 1.

But I do have two questions:
1) Roughly asked: how many missions will there be, if there will be a campaign availability in the future 007 patches?
and 2) If my memory serves me right, in mission 1, I think we were able to watch over the battlefield from a 'higher perspective'.. aka we were zoomed out a little more.
I loved it. would it be possible to add a feature or simply extend the maximum ranged people are allowed to zoom out to?

I greatly respect this modification, by far the most balanced one I've encountered thus far.

The team is working on the campaign. There will be 7 missions. I wont spoil anything of other things.

Sounds lovely.

The problem with many modifications, and many games itself even in my opinion..
Alot of modifications made for many games create awesome units, awesome factions, awesome tweaks and great gameplay, but those mostly won't last very long.
Games such as Sins of a Solar Empire have the option to play a skirmish online and offline. no campaign whatsoever.

If one is unable to compete over the internet, because he/she lacks the skill to, lacks the internet to or in any other way cannot play with others, he's forced to play endless skirmishes versus computer opponents.

We all know how boring this can be after a while..

Campaign missions allow for more variety, better use of (new) units if one constructs missions made to get the most out of his/her mod/game.
Although many competitive players are not interested in single player missions, because basically all you do is feed your eye with the battlefield's explosions*, there is a group that loves them.

So it's very good to hear that the missions are being worked on,

idk, someone else does that, or we arent started on it yet. shouldnt be much work thou. could be like in shockwave that you have all generals to play agains, but then without the new ones. you COULD play the new ones. not against them thou

Creator is working on the General Challenge. It is possible to add new Generals to the Challenge but the mission link has to be remade (I think so but not sure of it).

I do know that shockwave mod had the possibility to play with new generals. just not against them.

Shockwave has no AI for new generals (yet) because there is a limit to number of AI. However, Contra uses exist AI slots for the new generals which should work quite fine with General Challenge.

Hello guys, am having hard problems with mod 007
i never played any of the contra mods, but i want to, soo i started downloading the mod
when it was done downloading i encountered a problem, now this problem keeps coming up, every time i dl it..
its the broken launcher error, ut when i download the fixed launcher i get another error,
saying it cant find the instal_final.bmp file...
how do i solve this darn problem, i want to play 007 lol

i have first decade pack, i updated it to (so its version is 1.02)
please help me out ;)

1st: TFD is auto-update so you dont need to update.
2nd: if you downloaded the whole file, just extract all the contents to file:///C:/Program%20Files/EA%20Games/Command%20&%20Conquer%20The%20First%20Decade/Command%20&%20Conquer%28tm%29%20Generals%20Zero%20Hour

remove scripts. that is the problem most usually. or atleast, thats what i had with 3 friends.

What can i do?

Disconnection screen could happen because of bad connection. Sometimes the game doesn't load for someone (and it has to be restarted). Sometimes you just have to wait for a while (if everyone is loaded, someone might enter the game later than others).

Mismatch is more tricky than disconnection. Too many units can sometimes cause mismatch. 8p match often falls into mismatch or disconnection. Some map (tournament B) usually causes mismatch. But if it happens every time, I suggest you and your friends reinstall the mod and update your ZH with 1.04 patch.

Hi, I´m playing contra on lan (real lan, not hamachi) and after a while playing (maybe long maybe not) it throws mismatch... we all have the netfix. Any help?

Could you describe the situation that cause mismatch? If you're playing 8 player match, then even the netfix wouldn't help because of ZH Engine itself is buggy.

whenever i start contra 007 i get a pop up that says technical difficulties. ive uninstalled all other mods and changed compatibility and downloaded the fixed launcher. still nothing. please help

Does ZH run normally? What mods did you have (before your uninstallation)? Do you have ZH 1.04?
Sometimes, a single stranded INI file in side Data\INI could cause error to Contra.
