Just because the person saying it might be no better doesnt mean they cant say it and it cant be true. For the record, I wholeheartedly agree with O'Bolt. There have been many occasions upon which people have commented that I could not do better than them, at which stage I have endeavoured to explain that this is not the point. I guess it's mainly just that people don't like hearing that their 'work' is rubbish. What I find most irritating about that is that half the so-called 'art' world could do with hearing that. (This includes, but is not limited to, novelists, painters, journalists, presenters and especially computational linguists. If there's one thing I have learnt from XKCD, it's that computational linguists have it way too easy. )

Hurrah for xkcd! Also, I wholeheartedly agree about the art point, as I go to an arts school the second half of every school day. There are many artists that I would love to wake up to the real world and their own mediocrity, but somehow I never have the time or the heart to do so. I guess that if they're content with living in their illusory world of their own excellence. There was someone who graduated last year who was convinced that her calling was in musical theater... but she could neither sing nor act. C'est la vie.

This is the sort of thing I mean. You actually believe you can pass yourself off as mysterious with a "double personality" but that just screams angsty teenager, which is what you are. Hence why you have the personality of a wet dish cloth. I'd go so far as to say that a dish sponge has more personality but putting you in the same sentence as a sponge is a disservice to actual dish sponges.

Besides, you don't ever have to go right out and say "I'm a bad ass." It's your actions, and a lot of what you say, and this latest 'offering' is exactly what I'm talking about. Double personality... what a joke.

A Taiwanese female or Moroccan male can still be an angsty teenager, it's not mutually exclusive to any part of the world. You do realize that in order for an unwavering opinion to actually change there needs to be unsurmountable evidence to the contrary of said opinion.
