Creator, what I meant about the map is that I can see some new maps (not the maps you mentioned in changelog) inside the 007 BIG files but they are not available in skirmish. Is there really new maps in 007?

Yes, there are really new maps.

I went a bit odd at the upgrade for AF general. Ofcourse its good, but I mean, 3 planes dropping 16 bombs splitting into 64 bombs with a yield of a moab?

With a yield of Aurora Alpha bomb. Air Force general Aurora drops mini MOAB.

The number of bombs is 36. 3 planes. 6 bombs per plane. Each bomb splits into 2 parts. And remember, that you need to pay $8000 and wait 4 minutes to research both upgrades.

Why? Comanches are all-purpose aircraft, the machine gun works for additional damage against everything.

This is the very reason why I changed them. If you have universal all-purpose unit then you don't need to care about strategy and don't need to build other units. Build more of these universals and attack without thinking. They are all-purpose. They will destroy everything.

I've forgotten to ask about this, why was the Technical changed from 006 to 007? I mean, yes, spamming them made them overpowered siege units, but their light armor meant they can't last against actual concerted anti-armor attacks. It is nice adding more firepower to it, though, but what about using toxic bullets as Jarmen Kell does? Same with the quad cannon defense turret.

F-18 and Comanshes accompanied by Dark Stars were probmen for toxin general. Missiles got deviated and nothing could damage aircrafts. He needed some kind of AA machinegun at first rank, before he gets clouds.

Is that and the other 2 powers (acid and toxin spreading) going to be altered to provide experience? Currently the toxin spreading doesn't. On that subject, artillery barrages and A10 strikes also do not provide experience, though fire, toxin, and radiation created by them will. Is this to be changed?

There is nothing wrong with these powers. Some units have incorrect experience settings and they will not provide experience even when killed usual way. I know about this problem and I will fix it.

This is the very reason why I changed them. If you have universal all-purpose unit then you don't need to care about strategy and don't need to build other units. Build more of these universals and attack without thinking. They are all-purpose. They will destroy everything.

Sorry, I confused versions. There are new maps in Contra 008.

As for 007, there are these maps:
- Bay City Siege
- Hold The Hill
- Mountain Conflict
- TropicalTournament
- Turtledom
All of them stayed since Contra 006 and they are available in map selection menus.

I do understand your point, Creator. However, in some mod/game there are all-purpose unit and specialized unit. All-purpose can fight everything but not good at any of them while specialize unit is better at something. It might somehow create another tactic with these traits (but I can't think of something that would suit Contra at the moment).

I agree on that. All purpose is a spam unit.

The problem is....I can't see and play any of them since 006. I know they're there because I browsed BIG file for INI files (to learn about units and stuff for mission making).
Is there something I must do to make them available?

Nope, none of them are in my Contra. I only heard once for Turtledom map. But, thats all...

They really dont appear. Also, your letters are Arial and bold. If I remember correctly, we have another lettertype.

I saw "Maps\<MAP FOLDER>\<MAP FILES>" in the BIG file.
Is there a list file somewhere?

Yes, it is from newer version (008). But "Bay City Siege" must be available in 007 as well as in 006. Russian players had sent me some feedback about "Turtledom" map. Hence, they see all these maps too. I don't understand the reason of this problem. Try to go to this folder:

/ My Documents / Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data / Maps /

and delete mapcache.ini. I'm not sure, but it may help.

Deleting that INI file didnt help. Maps are still not available.

Perhaps we should try launching Russian version of Contra and see whether we can see the maps. If we can see, then there is something wrong with English version activation. If not, then it's something else.
