So are going to mash up all the Middle-Earth ages in one MOD? :)
Cause Werewolves were only in ze first Age AFAIK .

You can do that but should be dozed , otherwise you risk for some units to be off ( in terms of lore of course - I personally use Second Age Noldors in the Thirds Age - why? - because I love them :X ).

They have no cavalry because they don't need them... doesn't fit with the traditional play style for the faction.

But it's your mod, do what you want.

Units list will be based on materials of books and film.We want to make each faction really unique.
Soon we'll present more info.
This presentation was made to see effect of community...

I wasn't aware of any werewolves in either book or film....

The only "werewolves" mentioned in the Lore were daemons, spirits and lesser Maiar aligned with Morgoth in the First Age that went cloaked in wolf-shape. There were also some that lived as giant bats and great Orcs.

EDIT: It's commonly held that they were wiped out when Beren and Luthien retook Tol-in-Guaroth (sp?), and the werewolves were finished off by the Host of the West at the close of the First Age.

I tend to agree on the werewolf part (that its un-lore'ish, doesn't fit, shouldn't be used just because Mordor HAS to have cavalry, ect)
But since this mod, or whatever, is only going to have Mordor vs Gondor, I wouldn't really mind it to have all ages stuff... it'd be more interesting, exiting, unique, and likely fun to play... It would of course go against the lore, but it'd be something completely new to play :)

Of course, being a LOTR mod on CNC it's already going to be something completely new to play... so my vote would be; keep to one period :)

Well, granted I haven't read any of the extended texts or appendices or whatever, but I'm fairly clear on what fits with Middle-Earth as a concept, and werewolves are not a part of that canon. It feels like you're forcing something on the lore to try and equalise a single aspect at the expense of another. You have to ask yourself if it's worth it.

Look at ROTWK and its popularity. Then decide.

Perhaps I am against the norm in thinking that ROTWK is totally ridiculous? The only good thing I have encountered with it was that the graphics are kind of cool and the mods for it.

Well, sure they're only mentioned in "The Silmarillion",Mordor maybe should only have two different cavalry units witch could be: Mûmakil and Trolls.

Then you have these cool ideas that maybe Sauron could have a power that brings Melkor back to life for like 45 sec..and that he have a power to summon Werewolfs for a short period of time..:)

People, let's not derange this topic into another lore debate. I too dislike the idea of Werewolves for Mordor (greatly) but it isn't up to us. If we keep this up like we're used to doing, I foresee bad things.

It's good to show up some aspects of the lore that are not well known ( Look at poor Vort .. he was like " Wtf ? Werewolves in Middle-Earth ? ) .

Of course it's yours to decide , do whatever makes you happy , sometime fans are too hard to please. ^_^ ( Personally I like werewolves in a mod - but that's just me )

The concept and model of the it are very well done . :p

I agree that the models and concept art are very professional, in fact they look just like the Werewolves I suggested to Rj way back when. I just don't believe that they belong in Mordor proper, hehe.

Anyway, back on topic! Have you guys got a 'finished' tech-tree laying around anywhere? I think a fair handful of us would like to see it ^_^
