Also, for some reason the game is slower than Mental Omega for me. No idea why.
Allied T1 heli costs 100$, same for one of Allied countries, probably France. It costs 100$ as well.
Azri's ICBM Launcher doesn't really look good as a buildable Soviet rocket launcher. Neither does instant change of the angle for a rocket that's about to be launched.
Ares Cannon is really cool!

Also I thought you'd use the upgrade prerequisites with the Arms Contracts...
The point of using 0x0 trick instead of upgrades is that 0x0 is essentially PERMANENT whilst upgrades you lose if the building they are attached to is lost. As far as I know the way the country branches work might be amended if/when true research logic is introduced in future Ares versions.
I do agree that some things could do with polish but I also know that this version is essentially a public alpha even if it isn't necessarily labeled as such, and has been created in a rather short timeframe. Despite the flaws I suppose it still works well as a showcase/demonstration, future versions will likely offer much better playability. I guess that some issues could be addressed in form of a patch but that depends on what AG wants to do.
I personally do like some of the things AG came up with for this mod such as country branches for example.

Question:
Are the unit sounds from Red Alert 3?
It's nice, BTW. Although I couldn't get the hang of it... the Easy AI reminded me of MO 2.0a...
Also, I experienced Speeder's slowdown issue when I was an Allied and after I was attacked by a Terror Drone horde. I don't know, probably Hellhound was the problem...
EDIT: I know, this may be a good thing, but I can't extract any file from audio.bag. Also XCC Mixer cuts every sound's end which are before the Desolator. (I guess I was too happy to get the Red Alert 3 sounds without RA3...)
Also as I read on PPM, LaunchBase has problems with Ares... I posted a workaround at http://forums.renega...=17722#pid17722. Although it's not the greatest, it'll do the trick with about 90% success. BTW, I guess this bug is the same one I reported some time ago...

Don't know about the general sound extraction problem but any sound which has the number in 'Flags' column set to '13' or '7' (2-channel IMA ADPCM and PCM respectively) will be cut half when extracting because XCC Sound Editor handles stereo sound files in a piss poor manner. The fact that they are in stereo format is likely a conversion mistake and chances are that it'll be fixed in next version, if just to reduce the filesize of mod.

Now onto the issues -
1. Read the Manual - It states that sounds are missing and graphical tweaks are needed and stuff is disabled. It also clearly states how to deploy upgrades and Arms Contracts.
2. All units are WIP they are subject to removal or alteration.
3. Ares still has bugs so report them or check if they have been mentioned i.e. emp, firestorm issue - BugHouse
4. Upgrades might accept some features but their still limited for example they don't obey build limits.
5. Slowdown I am tracking down and difficulty will be optimised.

What I can guess that if Launch Base cannot download the file within an amount of time, the connection is interrupted. I have connection time-out errors on Ares 4 times out of 5 on a 128 kbps net by a similar problem, so this is what I can think of.
Only Marshall can fix this, sorry.

Prequisite: Allied Barracks. Cost - 500 RUs. Power upkeep - None. Purpose: Heals allied infantry to full health every 5 seconds.
Units
Infantry
Grenadier
Prequisite: Allied Barracks and Airforce HQ. Cost - 325 RUs. Purpose: Clears garrisons and moderate antiinfantry firepower. Can be deployed to uncrushable position to protect allied infantry from being crushed.
For Soviets:
Buildings
Airstrike Control
Prequisite: Soviet Battle Lab. Cost - 1800 RUs. Power upkeep - 100 Power. Purpose: Allows to call in a weakened in damagedealing MiG airstrikes(enought to take down most defensive structures(aside from Grand Cannon and Akeso Tower) every X:XX(At your opinion) minutes.
Units
Infantry
NKVD Marksman
Prequisite: Soviet Barracks and Soviet Battle Lab. Cost - 600 RUs. Purpose: Weaker and shorterrange soviet version of British Sniper, that can infiltrate buildings to steal technologies and aquire reconaissance.
