The eye of sauron isnt really sauron himself, its a kind of reference to him or rather his spirit being able to "see" all things in middle earth. The films depict it as literally him, however Tolkien makes several references to the eye being a kind of seperate entity. Im sure I will get some correction on that at some point, by a lore person more familiar with what im on about.

God, that banner. Anyway, whilst it was not 'Sauron', more of a symbol, Barad-dûr was constructed in S.A. c. 1600, and Numenor fell in S.A. 3319, so Dreamwalker, it was constructed at the time and used for Mordor's Orc forces' 'heraldry', and the 'Eye', whatever Tolkien envisioned for it, was constructed with the Tower. Thus it would exist as a symbol in Mordor as the Eye.
...use your banner for Morgoth...
And no, since Morgoth won't be popping up in Westernesse, that banner was simply for symbolism.

I do believe Sauron's 'eye' was associated with him as far back as the First Age.

Urgh, you're going to make me cite sources... fine. But I won't do a very good job.
From wikipedia: "Tolkien writes in The Silmarillion that "the Eye of Sauron the Terrible few could endure" even before his body was lost in the War of the Last Alliance.[56]".

Aye, but the Battle of Dagorlad was after the fall of Númenor, before which Barad-Dur was built, as aforementioned. Thus, it was able to be collapsed by the Last Alliance, then reconstructed in the mid-Third Age, after Sauron left Dol Guldur.

*Mordor. Sorry about that.
But now that I think about it, the eye banner would work fine. I forgot that in the books the eye isn't a literal "eye" (I guess it goes to show that Christopher Tolkien has a point about the films corrupting the books).
But I still say that the demonic-looking banner just isn't right for Numenor. The Black Numenoreans might be evil, but they're also the height of civilization, the wealthiest, most powerful, and most sophisticated human nation that would ever exist in Middle Earth. That banner screams orcs and Morgoth, not the bloodstained glory of Numenor.

Well, it's been a while, there's quite a lot of partly done stuff around, but I'll just say that models (currently without UV mapping and textures) for the entire Dunedain faction are complete, with a rather Medieval English-cross-Norwegian-cross-Gondorian architectural influence. Also in this condition are cross-city usable generic and specialized structures, designed so I can easily switch textures to make cities look definitively different to each other.
Also, two new Neutral 'Creeps' units have been created, furrier North Numenorean Spiders migrated from the Hyarmentir, and a Fire Drake known by legend as a Sea Serpent. Animations are in progress for the latter.
Lastly, we have Eldalondë, which I proudly present as my first ever finished good map:

I was wondering the same myself, basically Irene you used your admin powers to essentially host Westernesse yourself.

He hardly did. He gave him self a section for all his fantastic Artwork. Westernesse just happens to be a topic here. Which again has wonderful artwork in it. lol

Ah, Rad, this is going to be a drawn out war, isn't it This, the Incubus Cradle, has been here a while as my personal art forum, applied for and given permission to create. I moved Westernesse's single topic here, for one reason that it's not a conventional mod in that it will be very darkly themed with more violence than you would see in most other mods, and for another it is centred around the art of the mod as opposed to new systems and features, and as such is more appropriately placed in an art forum.
There is no dedicated forum as such, yet at least, and I plan to apply for the hosting that I would have gone through as any other member here when I think there's enough progress done. At the moment, with such long inter-update periods, it is clear this mod, and myself, would not be deemed good enough to be hosted.

A bit hard to tell but right to left: Fortress, Tower, Farm, Barracks or Archery Range, Stables, Inn, and Barracks or Archery Range
Those are my guesses
