Got another crash for you guys. Not sure if it's a blitter or not (I don't know what a blittercrash is, I'm just trying to be cool). I was playing the Epsilon mission in China where you sabotage the Psychic Beacon. I just finished hijacking the Qilin tanks and was on my way to clearing the area around the bridge, which caused the crash.

Hello, on Windows 8.1 64 bits, if I minimize the game to go to Windows to attend other application, the game hangs.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Open Mental Omega 3.0 public beta1 at full-screen.

2) Press the Windows key (or Alt+Tab) to minimize the game and go to Windows.

3) Click on Mental Omega 3.0 again in the task bar to unminimize the game again.

4) You will find a black screen and that the game does not respond.

 

Are you having the same issue? Which Windows version are you running?

Is there any other useful debug info I can provide in this case?

MO 3.0 b1 usually crashes to desktop playing a skimirs game 1 vs 1, it usually crashes when I click on the terrain with some unit selected, to give move order.

Crash while trying to play Skirmish on Windows 8.1 64-Bit and Mental Omega 3.0 Beta Revision 1, just saw in debug log what went wrong:

I'm not sure if anybody had reported this, but here's the problem just in case anyone has. Half of the time I load a mission or skirmish, it crashes, and recently I tried to play as the Pacific Front in skirmish and it kept crashing, not even loading.

Sounds like you have some leftover files from other mods. What operationg system are you using?

Windows 8. As far as I know, my Yuri's Revenge folder has no other mods than Mental Omega 3.0.

Are those "most of the times" every second game in a row or something like that?

Also, it would be nice if you posted the files for the crash. :)

Good day,

 

I have a pretty consistent crash bug with some of the Allied missions when attempting to retry them. If I either restart from the pause menu, or abort and choose the same mission (or a different one) then it will crash almost as soon as it enters the loading screen. Here's an example debug and syringe from Mission 04 (Heaven and Hell).

Interestingly, if I restart as soon as the mission begins (mash Esc) I can get it to restart successfully. Unfortunately this isn't any help if I intend to actually play the missions. :) This doesn't seem to be an issue with Mission 01 (Red Dawn Rising) or Mission 03 (Road Trippin'), I seem to be able to restart those missions as many times as I please.

 

I'm currently running the game windowed in Windows 8.1 with MOLauncher.exe set to run as administrator and in 16-bit reduced colour mode. Let me know if you need any other info.

EDIT: Mission 02 (Eagle Fly Free) doesn't work at all using the 'mash Esc' method.

You should also have an except-timestamp file which is supposed to hold the crash info in your case. Tho honestly, I can't see any signs of a crash, neither in those logs (the abrupt ending of debug.log would suggest the crash info would be listed in syringe.log, but that one shows a normal closing).

Those were the only files generated in this case. I have another debug log with a time stamp in the file name, but I suspect that was for one of the other crashes I had while collecting the above info.

 

EDIT: I notice that there are .sav files in my directory for each of the missions I tried. I thought Ares had save/load disabled?

Yeah, pretty much, except sometimes the crash sometimes comes first and then I can load a game.
I will post the files once I have access to the computer with Mental Omega.

It has save-load disabled during ingame. The saving-at-mission-start code isn't skipped tho, but even those saves are broken.
