I think I encountered this once with original YR. What is the resolution you set in the options menu? Try fiddling with that.

Had mental omega working just fine, but then this origin free ra2 and yr giveaway, so i deleted mo and ra2, installed ones from origin and mo launcher gives this error "***FATAL*** String Manager Failed to Initialize Properly". Tried all ways nothing worked, ra2 and yr at all don't respond to launch,. Then i deleted all this and downloaded all from torrent tracker. Now cncnet gives this error "Couldn't replace wsock32 dll. Please remove the file from your game directory for auto-update to work" win 7 Any help?

I think String Manager error is one of the errors associated with compatibility. Try setting all exes to winxp compatibiltiy.

Still no luck after setting every .exe file to run as admin. Is there any other options left? I had the game running a couple months back and I'm hoping to get it running again. I have the origin version of the game and I also tried setting the compatibility to win 95, 98, xp, 7 but to no avail

Dear Speeder:-

                        I am a very big fan of the Command and Conquer Series and some days ago I heard about your mod Mental Omega 3.0.I quickly downloaded it and installed it also i added the soundtrack which is very nice.There are two major problems I am facing in your mod.

 

1st-When i try to update it shows an error which says "something went wrong while connecting to the server.Try again later".

2nd-Yesterday i was playing a match with my friend at CnC Net when my Centurion Siege Crawler was about to come out of the war factory the game gave an error Which said "DESynchronization occurred and ares.dll could not continue normally.Would you like to create a full crash report against the developers".

 

I have ARES.dll 0.9, C&C RA2 1.006 and C&C YR 1.001.

All files are located in the rar please download it and help me i hope that you will because i like your mod very much and I told my friends about it they all download to play an Alliance war but this error is not letting any of us play and is occurring in all my friend's computers.Please help me

I think I can answer these:

 

1. There are no updates for MO yet.

2. You are using ARES 0.9. The game installs its own ares.dll and you don't have to download any. Furthermore, 0.9 is not yet used by the current Public Release of the mod (I think it is using 0.4?)

Aye, if you want to play on multi with other its good to keep it on 0.4 to make sure all things will work as they should.

Hey guys,I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue I'm having with the map editor.it simply won't open.it doesn't highlight when I move my mouse over it as if it wasn't even a button. I have it on two computers, both are doing the same.I'm completely out of ideas.if noone can help me,I'll never know the joy of an edited MO map...

Could need some help on the following error:

 

When I want to start the mod in fullscreen, the game icon appears on the task bar for a few seconds and then closes again with "Error - Unable to set video mode", however when I try to run it in windowed mode it work's fine.

 

What I tried:

 

1. Reinstalling MO

2. Setting my screenresolution in the INI file

3. Running in Windows XP mode and in 16bit and admin

 

I'm using the Origin version of both Yuri's revenge and Red Alert 2 and running it on Windows 8.1

In the MOUninstall folder, there is a file called "Segoe UI_1.TFT" That can't be deleted because it says the file is open in system. Even if I uninstall the entire complete decade, this singular file makes it impossible to delete or rename any folder it's in (Which makes it impossible for me to make multiple backups in the same folder). I haven't had this issue before, but it should be noted that I uninstalled and reinstalled at least once.

hi guys  while i was installing mo 3.0 i encountered this so what is my problem already tried reinstalling ,installing ra2yr from other source ,visual b c j installs net frmwork installs everything

So, I start the game up, everything runs smoothly, except when I go to update it. I press "Check For Updates", and I get:

"Something went wrong while trying to connect to the server. Please try again later."

 

I also have "Update on Startup" on, and I get this message every time I start up MO. Do I need to grant any extra administrative privileges? I'm positive it installed correctly; the game runs fine except for the update error shenanigans. Anything I could do?

Download the installer again. Maybe the installation file got corrupted.
(that, or you renamed the installer file from MOSetup.exe to MOSetup, because it sure does sound like it )

Even if it would install correctly, you're installing in wrong folder. Mental Omega is not standalone. You need to install it to your RA2/YR folder, not to a separate folder.
Also try to redownload the installer.

Hi ! Just created account for this . I can't launch the launcher . Whenever I click , it give 'Application failed to initialize (0xc0000076)' something like that . Here what I have do .

Reinstall
Having one only .net (2.0)
Remove wsock

My PC is :

WinXP SP3
.NET 2.0
no internet connection

I will try updating .net.......check if another solution.

The launcher needs .NET 3.0 and 3.5
