Seems like it ate the Syringe.exe. Can you find it in MO3 directory?

When I launch Mental Omega a popup comes and shows me: error unable to set video mode.

Try setting MOLauncher.exe, Syringe.exe and gamemo.exe compatibility mode to Win XP SP3.

I launched the game while accidentally installing another program and it my PC seems to have eaten syringe.exe; displaying this error. I tried reinstalling the mod but it didn't recreate an exe of it. Is the file tied to the installation of the base game?

nope, I have a syringe log but no exe

 

edit: reinstalled RA/YR/MO which seems to have fixed the problem, making a backup this time.

Aah thanks i guess i misunderstood   "It does not have to be a directory tied to the Yuri's Revenge registry"  

But i'll reinstall it then into the directory

Edit: can i install it in a seperate map/folder in the directory? 

like: C:\games\Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge\Mental Omega 

(since  C:\games\Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge would be the place where RA2 YR is installed)

Hi im having problem with playing online whenever i try to click on the tab that says play cnc online it says server is down even though it says that there are some ppl online plz help.......................love what u guyz do....love mental omega only if it wasnot so hard

There's nothing we can do about it. Your connection is either too slow or unstable to connect to the server, or you're being blocked. Your only hope is to try another time of the day.

Or you can give a try to other clients such as Tunngle. I have heard that certain players play via using it.

You may use a VPN tool to solve this problem such as hotspot shield. Whenever you can't connect to cncnet but you can still see the number of players, just run this tool and play.

Hello everyone!

 

Need a little help here. I'm trying to run this mod since a few days and it's just doing nothing at all.

 

I installed it to my RA2 directory and when I first wanted to start it showed the "the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close application", I checked this forum and removed the "wsock32.dll".

 

Now the error is gone but I still can't launch the game or the launcher.

 

I double click it and nothing happens.

 

What could be the problem?

 

I'm using Tiny Windows 7 if it matters somehow. Also I have the visual redistributable package and .net framework 4.5 installed.

 

I tried the following: compatiblitiy mode, turning off antivirus.

You need .NET 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 for everything to work properly. 4.5 is something entirely different. You might also have to uninstall 4.5 in order to install older ones.

Thank you! I will install the missing .Net frameworks and see what happens.

I tried to install them but the installer said that I have the latest version installed which is 4.5 and it contains all the older versions. Any other suggestions?

That's why i told you'll have to uninstall 4.5 for that first. Although i'm not really sure how it works on Windows 7, since at least some people seem to have no problems with it even though it says they have 4.5.1 installed (and no mentioning about earlier versions).

Uninstall 4.5 and install all of 2, 3, 3.5, in that order, and then 4.5. You could also try disabling User Account Control before trying to uninstall, but tbh, it doesn't sound like problem with that.

Also, do you have the right redistributable? You need the 2010 version specifically, not any other.
