So I read the article on it in gameinformer. A little part of me just died.

That bad, huh?
And to think this is what they've shot MERP down over.

It is. I just don't even know why they bother slapping the lotr name on it, they'd probably sell more without it at this point.

I could only find this in Dutch, but some new screens have been released.

It looks damn weird.
It doesn't look Middle-Earthy in the slightest.

Maybe if you squint your eyes and do a handstand, it might work

This looks pretty beautiful in terms of graphics, but the story and respect of the lore is so messed up! And they really think it's lore friendly? *Sigh*

Wow.
Domination, converting Orcs over to your own personal army, becomes integral to the campaign later on. I was able to witness the mechanic in execution when Talion was able to convert a lowly Orc captain to his side, Ratbag the Meat Hoarder. Ratbag also happens to be a bodyguard for the higher-ranked Orthog Troll Slayer, so Talion is able to position Ratbag as a double agent at the next Meeting of the Orcs.
"Are we going to keep every fan on the internet happy? No. Are people going to love it even if they aren't fans of Lord of the Rings? I hope so."
While I like how the gameplay seems to be, it still doesn't suit Middle-Earth..

Gameplay doesn't even look that great to me.

Interesting stuff, but completely unrelated to LotR.

Was about to post it.
Have to say, the video made my very interested. Hyped too. It looks awesome. Yes, it's a mix of Assassin's Creed, the Last of Us, Tomb Raider and what-not, but it certainly proved me wrong. It could very well work.
Still, not Tolkien'ish in the slightest.

Please devs just remove any other megre references to Middle-earth and just set your game in Muddle-earth.

The weirdest thing about that game is the bright blue skies of Mordor.

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."
