Just gotta hope you can deal as much as damage as what they would, with the Chronosphere or Iron Curtain. But yeah, as Libra is already slightly obnoxious in BR1, and is getting a buff in BR2, and then you combine that with the Rage Inductor and possibly Shadow Ring... That leaves you with one foul, vicious force to deal with.

 

Iron Curtain doesn't kill enemy infantry, Petya said it in a previous post.

 

 

Iron Curtain can't kill enemy infantry, but as a compensation it can protect your structures.

 

Although Chronosphere can kill enemy infantry, it's a long 7 minute wait due to the +1 minute nerf in BR2.

Shadow Ring and Rage Inductor + Libra and a group of her clones = A Total Nightmare

 

If Lunar colony would be reintroduced to the game can the Oil Derricks be indestructible like in Petro War? It was a pain in the ass when all Oil Derricks got destroyed since there is no ore/gems in lunar maps from MO 2.0psi.

I didn't mean using them as a literal weapon (though I guess you could if you wanted to with the Chronosphere), but using it to cause destruction.

Lost Colony was a gamemode for lunar maps. We should have lunar maps before attempting to make a gamemode from nothing. :p

Can't we just use 2.0 maps, with some fixes?

I just never understood how is it logical that there is no ore on the moon, but there is oil. I mean, ore = minerals, and the moon supposedly has plenty of iron, for example, while oil = remains of certain lifeforms... moon never had any lifeforms as far as we know. IMO it would be cool if moon maps had ore and ore drills, I think you could recolor ore to silver-ish for moon maps, and/or a new tech building to replace oil derricts on lunar maps:

 

Tech Lunar Ore Drill

-only on lunar maps

-can be captured by engineers

-indestructiable?

-should require power to work

-works like an oil derrict, but gives more $$$

 

Fun fact: slaves of Yuri's miners have learned to eat sunlight (I haven't eaten in daaaaaaays!) and breath only by thinking of it (in vanilla YR, the DC lunar maps featured normal slave miners and slaves).

I'm just posting things that come in my mind now.

 

PsiCorps Tier 3 Defense:

 

Subjugator Tower

Cost: $1000

Prerequisite: Epsilon Pandora Hub, Psychplug

Weapon: Psychokinetic Rod, Mini-Chimaera Core

Power: -20

Range: Far/Medium

Foundation: 1x1

Purpose: Infantry Weakening

Description: Fresh straight from the labs of PsiCorps is the Subjugator Tower. It's Psychokinetic Rod can lift up enemy infantry from the midst and pull it to itself. If an infantry being pulled reaches the Tower, it's brainwashed and "subjugated" to serve the Epsilon cause. The Subjugator Towers are also concealed by miniaturized Chimaera Cores so they can catch enemy infantry by surprise.

Just trying this mod a week ago, being told that it's far better than vanilla Yuri's revenge...

 

Yeah, everything is good and the graphics is far better than the others, I also like the voiceovers, this mod is almost perfect mod in my opinion... but...

Yeah, so I used to think myself as Experienced RTS player, Have played Tiberium Wars vs brutal enemies and win without too many scratches, played vanilla RA2 and Yuri's revenge online and usually can hold myself in a match. Played Starcraft and OpenRA too, and usually have no problem fight against another average players, and fighting vs even brutal AI is already cakewalk...

 

But playing this mod turned me into knowing another level of pain  :flame:

 

I must admit I'm not quite used to this mod, so I first try skirmish with scorpion cell vs 1 normal Chinese AI enemy, and I got stomped flat in no time. Thinking that this could be Yuri side is too gimmicky, and someone suggested that Scorpion cell and Latin Federations is relatively weak, using European alliance vs 1 easy Scorpion Cell AI... and guess, I still got stomped because the AI churn tanks like no tommorow, and infantry like they're breed like rabbits.

 

So I think perhaps the learning curve is in the missions... but GOD DAMN It TO HELL! EVEN ON EASY THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO FAIR MISSION AT ALL!

 

Duh... is there a patch to get easier AI opponent? because I do tried to play online in CNCnet as well, but aside of one kind guy who informed me about tech, weakness and such, I said in my second match I'm newbie, and not yet used to this mod, but he literally drowned me in qilin tanks and several weird chinese things...

 

I simply can't get used to this mod at all... help...

Yeah. The mod always feels a bit overwhelming when you first play it. I am not really the best player around but my advice is that, you should practice more with the AI. You'll get used to it's attacks and will be able to counter it once you get the fundamentals of the game. You can go to the mod's website: mentalomega.com and check out the unit infos of the factions so you can know them better. The game's playstyle is rather different from vanilla Yuri's Revenge.

 

However, the AI will be easier in the next update and the missions will most certainly be easier too in the next update.

How to beat mental AI:

-play as PsiCorps

-survive until you tech up by spamming defenses and garrisoning like no tomorrow

-once teched up, infiltrate enemy barracks

-train Libra as veteran, drop veteran Libra clones (9 of them, no more no less, less won't have sufficient firepower, more can't be micro'd well).

-use Libra + clones to defend, wait till they are all elite

-when they are not fighting, send them to pick up crates, so they get armor, firepower, and speed bonus

-when all of them are elite + fully upgraded, roflstomp the AI base, microing still required, especialy if Nüwa cannons or Thor gunships are present

-win

But still... Holy Guacamole! Even while the AI is literally having a bio reactor and yuri barrack, they can train epsilon adept?

Play with gamespeed 4. Anything higher will result in you getting stomped just after 5 minutes.

Seriously? WTF?

The AI cheats in this mod big time. It gets like a million $ at start, and does not give a shit to prerequisites. Epsilon adepts trained while having only a barracks is one thing, but prepare for spies getting in your base like 2 minutes after you start the game. That is the reason why I do not train any infantry other than those that I send to garrison stuff.
