If you are using Windows 8, you might need to restart the game after each match, otherwise it will crash during loading.

If it's happening during games, you could also try changing gamemo.exe into gamemd.exe and then running through cncnet.exe file (when you do it, remember to click on Settings and in the argument line field change "gamemo.exe" -CD into "gamemd.exe" -CD, otherwise it won't run). Do not run through the MO launcher after that, unless you change gamemd.exe back to gamemo.exe.

Keep in mind though, this doesn't necessarily have to fix your problems, but it does help with stability on Windows 8 (not sure about Windows 7). Otherwise, most random crash issues should be fixed with the next update.
 

Does that mean i cant play it in full screen?

If it works windowed, play windowed.   I can't really help more than this since i don't have Windows 7 myself, so i have no clue what can be the reason for this to happen.

 

So I finally got around to trying your method, but unfortunately it still crashes...

I haven't been able to find the source of the crashes, either.

Every time I go for a LAN match my game crashes. I hear a "Ding" Sound and then the game freezes. I have to close the game and try again.

 

I found the debug file, but not the other two you are asking for.

I see you're using a version of Ares that you should not be using. You aren't able to play online with anyone simply because your Ares version is different from what others have. You better switch back to 0.4 version (or reinstall MO if you don't know where to look for it, but apparently you know). Do not change Ares version if you want to play with other people online.

That's unfixable, but happens sporadically, so it shouldn't be an issue. Future version might have this problem fixed.

On Windows 8 you have to restart the game after each game. This will be fixed with the next update. If you're really bothered by it and don't play with other people online then look for the newest Ares version and extract the files into your MO directory. That should fix the problem.

That looks like you installed MO into the wrong directory. And the exept.txt either isn't from MO or you're using different Ares version.

What directory should it be installed in? I have it installed in my C:/Westwood/RA2 folder and I get the fatal error message followed by a message regarding Ares on startup. Is this the wrong directory?

It should be installed in the same directory Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge were installed. Not in a separate directory. Not in a subdirectory. That is all.

Hey guys. Jamaluddin here. I've got a 'crashed to desktop' case for you.

 

I was playing a skirmish as Pacific Front against Headquarters in 'Battle' mode on the 'Desert Pyramids' map. A.I was set to easy. Game difficulty is normal.

 

Everything was going fine until the game suddenly crashed to desktop and Windows started checking for a solution to the problem. the problem being that MOlauncher had apparently stopped working properly.

 

Now i know that you guys want me to upload Syringe.log but I'm not allowed/permitted/authorised to do that?

 

Is there anyway that you guys can help?

 

i launch the game by opening MOLauncher and telling it to 'Launch Mental Omega'.

In this circumstance MOLauncher was closed while the game was running.

Also the game resolution had just been reset from 640x480 to 1024x768.

 

And one thing that I forgot to mention, I downloaded Mental Omega 3.0 Beta Revision 1 after my copy of Yuri's Revenge had become unplayable because it kept freezing up mid-game.

You need a certain post amount to upload files here.

Use pastebin to post text files. And be sure you do it just after the crash, because otherwise the file will be overwritten if you launch the game again.

Wait there's a problem.

It did crash again so I kind of need to know asap.

And please try to keep things simple. Pretend that i'm a four-year-old basically. I'd appreciate it.

That's an unfixable random crash. Nothing we can do about it. Hopefully you're not one of those that get it often.
