A little side note, A buff to the Abrams' tank lasers would come a long way in making it a viable weapon to use against tanks, because now it's just filler in between cannon shots, useless little to no damage filler.

Those lasers are never meant to be for tanks. They're for people.

I don't even know why the Abrams would shoot lasers on tank as well. They used to only use it on infantries in 3.0

Regarding why the Abrams now shoots the Lasers as well I guess it was just for the sake of extra DPS?

http://ares-develope...ammoweapon.html

Its also used on the Riot Trooper & Bulldog as to why they can use their SMGs/Cannon along with Flashbangs. Also to note in the Website most units which list their weapons as [Weapon A] & [Weapon B] Probably use the same system.

Lies! Siegfried is behind every technology in the game! I use him as an excuse to explain all the "How did x get y?" arguments.

>complaining about logic in game that have mind control, weather control, rad cannons, confusion beams and magnetic hovercrafts

No. Just no. Please don't say stuff like this.

This kind of argument is what gave us RA3. "Hey, we have mind control, weather manipulation, antigravity and electric bolts as weapons. It's all silly anyway, so let's give our ships tracks, spider legs, and make the Apocalypse look like a dancing toy car! Nobody will notice the difference!"

He, or Yunru.

Yeah, Yunru is our other egghead, though I prefer Siegfried, I don't know why, he's my favourite, he's the best I hope he lives through act two.

To be honest, ships with tracks and spider legs were kinda awesome. But the Apocalypse did look like shit.

Well at least the tanks here don't rattle as much as the RA3 one. When I look at them, my first impression was that those things might explode at any moment

Just because something is not realistic doesn't mean stupid designs aren't stupid. Whoever use that kind of excuse need to get his head checked.

There is a clear difference between making a fictional battle tank for an army and a freaking toy for children. RA1 wasn't realistic either, yet it is nothing like RA3.

It doesn't help that the Empire of the Rising Sun feels like it's designed around toys. Like mechas, transforming planes, high school girls.

That whole faction was cringe-inducing.

One the subject on Foehn meanwhile, what is the best build order for their three tech structures: Loom, Cloud Piercer, and Kernel?

Should it be subfaction specific first, e.g., Last Bastion builds loom first, or should Foehn always rush a specific unit first like building Cloud Piercer to get buzzards.

The whole game was toyish, not just the unit designs. Except for the water, everything else in RA3 looks like they're from a generic saturday cartoon and not a battlefield. Sad thing is it was done intentionally and they thought it was a fresh and unique idea.

On the other hand, C&C 3 graphic was exactly how things should have been even though it was a bit exaggerated on the post-apocalytic theme.

Hah, when C&C3 came out, people said it wasn't post-apocalyptic enough, unlike TS.

Btw, I do think that -some- designs in RA3 were good. Like: Riptide, Guardian Tank, Pacifier, Apollo, Century Bomber, Harbinger, Hydrofoil, Assault Destroyer (quite a favorite), Sickle, Reaper, Stingray (man I love this), Burst Drone, Archer Maiden, Rocket Angel, Tsunami Tank, Striker/Chopper, Wave-Force Artillery, Yari Mini-Sub, Sea/Sky-wing, Naginata, Shogun.

And some of those already made it to MO. :p

You kids forget about one unit that made allias able to compete with other factions and was super micromanagement intensive: Crowning Unit Of Awesome, Cryocopter.

God I remember the RA3 before the broken Uprising dlc came out. It sucked being an Empire main because there wasn't any anti air infantry. Rip Tunamis, Rip Tangus Rip VX cause Ally air domination was too much. But then again RA3 was an extremely balanced game, except you know... until uprising.

The problem with C&C3 was that the devs @ EA were lazy bastards and scrapped all the Tiberium lifeforms from Tiberian Sun and Firestorm. If anything, we would have expected even more mutants as the planet slowly turned into an alien hellhole. I think Twisted Insurrection had the right idea to add even more Tiberium flora & fauna.
