By the way, the front page installation guide has been updated. The pdf posted was a draft for it.
Hmm nothing still working, uninstalled 2 times and installed again. It keeps coming with the no-cd or no-dvd error, same with the given game file. Will try to install again with the guide.

try patch 2.02 for rotwk it includes a no cd fix
for bfme2 theres a game.dat file in the instructions that does the same

Hey, im new here. Im having the 404 problem that occurs when my pc is trying to download the file of the patch 1.06 all in one installer and it doesnt work.
I`ve followed all the steps for the BFME to run and it gets stuck there. Like if my network wasnt working, and clearly it does.
Can you help me?

Before: Sorry for my english
After several attempts i've done the 2 installation, BFME2 and ROTWK, but when i'm in game, i just click on "multiplayer" and then "online" (dont know if it's the right word cause i'm on the french version) and i'ts written "For playing online u need to downloand the latest version" but i've the latest version.. please help me
Edit: i've also have my hook active
Edit2: I just execut the application in admnistrator, that work, but now when i put my ID it's said "the ID doesnt exist"..
Edit3: I relaunch the game, and it's work

Hey, ive used this forum and installed the game correctly and in order several times. but I wanted to install it on my laptop. hooowever. Different issue, it says it cannot locate the disk even though its properly mounted. I always used daemon tools lite but thought maybe it was bugging out a little. so I tried alcohol 52 but again, same issue.
Not sure whether its confused on which drive to use since I have my D drive which is the laptops and the virtual one which was an F. Tried running directly from the virtual drive, still problem locating.

edit: you must use the game.dat you cannot play the game without it.

Getting kinda lost in all these installations over here.
Installed BFME2 exactly how the guide told me too, HD version and all, Patch Switcher and everything. Weird issues going on though.
Patch 1.06 & 1.09 aren't working, keeps giving me "wrong dvd" error. (Already downloaded the game.dat and put it in the Program files)
Patch 1.00 is working, with autodefeat and wrong resolution. (Even downloaded the options.ini and edited it to 1920 1080)
Any of yall can actually help me out with this?

Hello, new user, so I had to find out after a long search that, apparently, to run RotWK after using this guide, BFME2 has to be on 1.06 rather than 1.09. Might you please update the guide to reflect this? Thank you!

installation worked fine
been playing this for week or two now
boyfriends over, were about to have a lotr party together
bam, i got this error.
edit: found out my original game is stuck on 1.09 patch and it won't change to 1.00 or 1.06 dsifjoidfjs
edit: just reinstalled patch switcher.
(just keeping this up so people who read this error they'll know what to do)

hey hun! where did you put the game.dat file exactly? its definitely in the installation folder right? mine was c drive/ program files/ ea/ battle for middle earth (something like that) not in any specific folder.

other than that shouldnt give you a wrong dvd error at all. just make sure its there is all! provide images if you can. maybe you mightve misplaced it, ive done that several times before haha. also make sure you downloaded the options.ini and placed it inside your %appdata% roaming folder. if you haven't.

Hello,
Installed BFME 2 following the guide and it works perfectly, however ROTWK doesn't even start the game. I just get the first loading screen and after a while it exits.

Hi all,
Brand new here. I've gotten BFMEII and RoTWK both downloaded and working, however I'm struggling with BFME. I get about 90% of the way through downloading patch 1.06 (all-in-one) when I get a "Download Failed. Check your connection and click 'retry' to try downloading the files again, or click 'Cancel' to terminate the setup" with no further explanation of what went wrong. The extent of my troubleshooting was to turn off my firewall (which I had whitelisted it from anyway) and that did not work. Has anyone else ran into this/have any ideas?

Please download and install BfME1 v1.03 first then try again.
This worked perfectly! Thank you! I misunderstood what the all-in-one patch did. I thought it included all patches and didn't need 1.03. Everything is working!

Hey everyone,
I hope this is the right forum but anyway my problem is, that I cant connect to anyone in the lobby...
To my setup:
I have the BFME2 original CD installed. I installed Patch 1.06 then installed Patcher (where I can switch the versions). I also installed t3a.online and followed the installation steps. Everything works fine. I am able to log in to multiplayer and also join a lobby.
Here now my problem:
In the lobby I have to wait to connect to all the other players (then you have a green or a yellow dot/circle/point) but in my case there is this red sign that there is no conection possible and the lobby leader isnt able to start the game at all.
Further setup:
When I started multiplayer it asked me if the firewall should open by this game automatically. I accepted.
I also opened UDP and TCP Ports 8088 and 8089 but the error is still the same...
Question:
Which ports do I have to open?
Or is there an other solution for my connection problem?
I hope someone can fix it.
