In short, try opening Port 16000 and see if that helps.

There's also a guide that covers all of this in detail: https://forums.revor...rwarding-guide/

Hello everyone,

By now we reach the time when our good old original disks reach their date of expiry and are expected to show serious physical failure. We decided to provide you an alternative way to continue playing!

Below you'll find a step-by-step installation guide for each game.

Big thanks to GameReplays for hosting the downloads!

Battle for Middle-earth
ladderbfme1logo.jpg

If you have the original BfME disk then please skip to step 3 and use your legitimate cd key.

  • Download The Battle for Middle-earth ™. The original unmodified version. Main / Mirror 1 / Mirror 2
  • Open tBfMe.iso. This will mount the BfME disk to a virtual drive.
  • Launch AutoRun.exe on the disk. Install the game. Need a cd key? (Note: some antivirus programs will flag the keygen. This is a false positive. The keygen is safe.)
  • Install patches.

    • Download the Battle for Middle-earth v1.03 Patch in your language. (Scroll down)
    https://www.gamefron...ory/patches-105

    • Download our all-in-one patch 1.06 installer. (Installs 1.05 and 1.06 and T3A:Online.)
    http://server.cnc-on...tch1.06_AIO.exe
All-in-one patch installer includes no-cd fix, widescreen fix and T3A:Online, please select these components.

  • (If you didn't install it in step 4) Download T3A:Online to play online!
  • Download the Battle for Middle-earth: HD Edition. You can play online with people who don't have it. Download page https://www.moddb.co...-hd-edition-v10
  • To setup your screen resolution click Start and type:

    %appdata%

This will open the folder location C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming in the Windows Explorer app. Search for the My Battle for Middle-earth Files folder there (or create a new folder). Download Options.ini and put it in the folder. [image] Open the Options.ini file and edit Resolution = 1920 1080 to your screen resolution and save.

I am interested in playing BFME 1 on Win10. I have the original disk, but cannot load it on Win10 (even with Virtual Machine). I downloaded Mirror 1, and launcher. Patch 1.06 keeps erroring at like 95% install. Launcher doesn't recognize the game is installed at all. Feeling pretty hopeless. Please help!

Edit: fyi- I used to be fairly computer savvy but haven't paid attention since WinXP so try to dumb it down. Thanks in advance!

So here is my problem:

I've got rotwk installed and it works perfectly in 1.6 version of BFME2 but when i try to  switch it to 1.9 (with patchsitcher), this error appears and I don't know what to do.

Thx for your time

Sin t

Check the troublshooting section for the options.ini fix.

Generally people have issues connecting with people with the "same version" when they have installed the game incorrectly. This includes:

  • not installing RotWK 2.01 or BfME 1.06.
  • using a repackaged game

People can read the guide in this topic to find out more. Check out the Troubleshooting section.

hello and many thanks for making this guide possible. its been wicked nostalgic to play again. both myself and my brother followed the steps for BFME2 and are able to play the singleplayer game in its entirety. however we are getting the "your serial number is already in use" message, is there a work around for this? we have both tried reinstalling the game and making sure we are using the steps in the guide correctly. i was looking around for something already posted but wasnt able to find anything.

When does the message shows? when trying to play online? or at the installation step? If it does appear at the installation step there is a keygen generator which you can download from the guide, it should work perfectly

the message shows when i try to join a game lobby ( local network since im in the same house as my brother) i havent tried online as of yet, however that is what im trying later today. it gives an error message saying failure to join, your serial number is already in use. i had the exact same situation on BFME1, but was able to find the serial number and alter it so it worked, but have been unable to find the code in tthe second game. is there a patch im missing or something? thank you for the reply

You will need to use a different key. You can get the keygen in this guide. Here's a link to the first post: https://forums.revor...allation-guide/

You can use it to create random unique keys, so please create unique keys for each computer you install it on.

same with rotwk. Mini images dont work with win 10?

Make sure to install the latest patch with the new game.dat from http://www.gamerepla...2-download-page

This updates doesn't work for me, i get a download failed popup everytime i try to install it.
