I have a problem. We (I am and my friends) can`t connect to each other to play Mental Omega online. But we can play with other players.

I'm having the same issue as CalmPhil was earlier after updating to the Win10 Fall Creators update. The game loads for everyone else in multiplayer but me and eventually the connection times out.

 

I was able to roll it back but my friend (who is also having the same issue) wasn't able to roll back due to recently upgrading from Windows 8.1, so he didn't have an older version of Win10 installed to roll back to. 

 

I just want you guys to be aware of this, something changed in the way Windows 10 handles networking or something that completely breaks MO or CnCNet in general. My friend is going to create a Windows 7 partition and play MO that way, but it's kind of annoying to have to install a second OS just to play our favorite game because Microsoft broke something. Due to the way Microsoft tends to force updates upon people, you're probably going to see this issue more and more going forward.

Well, on the bright side, Windows 7 runs RA2 and its' mods the best afaik. But yeah, this is why I'm always hesitant with newer Windows

I wanted to reply again with another piece of information, in case someone else is running into this issue.

 

Playing a LAN game over Hamachi DOES work in Win10, so that's a possible solution some people can use until (if?) this issue is worked out.

after the match is over the score screen does not come

i have to force close yuri's revenge (gamemd.exe)

Hey all again, 

i managed to complete the ghost hunt mission without crashing, just walled off my MCV and it never happened.

 

anyways i am now experiencing another crash on relentless, final allied mission. i was so close to finishing it and it crashed

hopefully someone is able to identify what the problem is, game runs fine in multiplayer, and skirmish but the campaign seems to have some problems. the missions between Ghost hunt and Relentless i had no problem at all

Hi

 

I downloaded the latest version (3.3) and i installed it how it suppose to be, but when i launch the client, the picture pops up and then the windows (7) says that it stopped responding and if i want to send data to Microsoft for some reason (So in short, i launch the client, picture of Allied unit shows up, client stops responding and crashes)

 

Tried both administration access and setting compability to SP 2

 

It generates a log though

Any help will be appreciated

Restarted PC, still crashed on launch.

Tried reinstalling too, didn't helped.

I have it from first decade, so i dont know if its patched to 1.001 or not, but when i try to patch it throws a "Old file not found, however a file of old same name was found, no update done since file contents do not match"

Any ideas ?

 

EDIT: Version is indeed 1.001 when i launch it, so... whats the problem then ? Did somebody examined the log yet ?

The client should be another problem altogether. I think you should ask Rampastring in CNCNET.org

In the Eagle Fly Free mission, a stranded Sentry Gun was build farther from the Soviet Base, when I destroy it (for some reason it attacking my Chrono Miner), they rebuilt it again. And I made a lookout there is no such Tech Base Expansion or any of structures that related to Soviet.

Is that a bug that already has been reported before?

Hey guys,

 

My Mental Omega was working fine when I first installed it and had no issues running it. But a few months later when I decided to fire it up again the client works fine but when I starting a skirmish or campaign mission the game doesn't load and I get kicked back to the main menu, the programs have administrator rights and the recommended compatibility settings, but it still doesn't load, and I feel like I've tried everything, including reinstalling and restarting.

 

Any help you guys would be able to provide would be most helpful

SputNikk, this crash looks like the one sometimes known by the name "VideoBackBuffer crash" (indicated by 6BC0DC). It's related to the CnCNet dll. No known fix yet, afaik.

I had a problem with LAN connection. My friend have same version (for sure, 3.3.2 as I installed it for them, with Yuri's Revenge 1.001). We can't establish LAN connection- It goes KABOOOM- and whenever I restarted the game and PC, it still giving a same result.

Additional question: Is there an activity log for LAN connection, like Syringe.log for make the solution easier?
