An animation had no type set. I've seen this before, but don't yet know for certain how this happens. It might be that an animation is dealing damage, which causes the very animation (maybe by proxy: building anim, attached anim) to be removed from the game. This clears the type data and would explain why the type data was set just a few instructions earlier in the same function that crashes, because if that weren't the case, it would have crashed earlier already.

I presume that will be fixed in a later version of Ares or no?

If this is a bug in Ares, yes. If this is a shortcoming of the original game engine, making this possible would be a feature request. Then it depends.

Just don't press the 'Move Down' button in Updater settings. It crashes if there's no update mirror selected (and it doesn't select one by default) and wouldn't do jack all anyway since there's only one mirror listed. It is a bug that'll likely get fixed eventually, but not a critical one since it happens under predictable conditions with something that you can easily ignore and choose to not do.

Client Sound doesn't work although everything is working fine, OST also is working, i tried many times to reinstall the game and the windows but it still doesn't work.

It worked fine before but i don't know what happened

I turned on all the options and nothing new

there is a similar video on YouTube where is no client sound! although all client options are on!

Any idea ??

People, people, please use spoiler tags. It's difficult to see what's going on here because of all the data.

It keeps crashing...

I would need the except file the debug log mentions to tell you what went wrong.

xna fails without a specific reason, this is why i moved away from microsoft windows

one of the devs need to get on linux :)

on the other hand, with manjaro/wine3.1 i can play mental omega 2.0 at full speed, also tried lan with wsock32(wine override)

hope this gets fixed

so on linux i can get the mental omega client to work

with what this guy said here https://github.com/C...lient/issues/59 , follow the hastebin link

but now it crashes, and it needed the ra2.tlb and after that its loading and crashes

keep in mind i can run ra2 with ddraw.dll just fine

i replaced the ddraw and i get this with 0046:fixme:d3d:surface_cpu_blt Filter WINED3D_TEXF_LINEAR not supported in software blit.

tell me wich renderer do i select so its like normal redalert with ddraw.dll, that worked

Managed to get Mental omega to work, but whenever I press the escape key, it does not show the pause menu, mouse flickers, and the win screen is in the same situation with the pause screen; frozen screen, but you can still click on the buttons where they are supposed to be.

Use DDrawCompat or TSDDraw Renderer. Check client menu

[...]something something except.txt

You most likely had missing ra2.mix or ra2md.mix, but I guess you found that out already.
