Hey all,

I was playing through the mission Idle Gossip and found this building to be a bit odd.
Is there any significance of this structure? Is it intended to be the American's means to connecting to the Mercury Satellite?

http://imgur.com/a/Eb0Yd

On one of the skirmish maps (i think Siegfried's tech-something) it is labeled/called chronosphere debris

Also cant wait for final omega, hopefully it has a better mission/event scripter than final alert, as to me it was useless to make events happen

Hey, I checked it out and you were right! (It's (8) Siegfried's Techzentrum!

Thanks for clearing that up. Was completely off on my end, thought it was the Pacific Front hacking the Mercury Satellite given the next mission is Death from Above.

I believe it's a deconstructed Chronosphere or something.

Correct. It was stated by the devs at some point (I think) that the 'building' are the parts for the Chronosphere.

Also, sorta loosely related to the thread, I can't wait for FinalOmega to come out so I can edit the missions. One of Speeder's older tweets teased that we might be able to make Mental Omega maps of our own. That means that we might be seeing a map editor in an upcoming update. Can't wait; there are a lot of things that I wanna change in the campaign. (Like barrels... barrels are only good when they work in MY favor, darn it!  :p. Also make the Chinese in Juggernaut less useless!)

Also, just an idea; maybe someone can make a fanmade campaign with the map editor. I for one wouldn't mind a series of fanmade campaign missions that lets the Allies win, much like the original RA2, but with the difficulty that M.O. is known for. I kinda think the original RA2 had the Allies win WAY too easily, and I wouldn't mind making the Allies really work hard to earn their victory, if only because it's gonna be much more satisfying when you do win. Especially since MO will have the potential to fight far more intense enemies than the original; vanilla RA2 didn't have China or the Latin Confederation to contend with, for example.

I think it's safe to say the Soviets have had their time in the limelight, at least in my opinion. Not mentioning the Allies in the MO universe currently are pretty much everyone's punching bag, and it does make me a bit sad to see it; I'm a bit of a sucker for the Allies, the U.S. most of all. Then again, the U.S. are my favorite Allied subfaction who REALLY got the short end of the stick in the MO universe, and RL I am an American myself, so... yeah. I'm slightly biased here.  :lol:  :lol:  :lol:

*Cue Soviet fans coming out to kick my American loving butt*

All the mission maps are locked in mixes and impossible to extract, presumably to make it difficult, if not impossible to edit.

What happened to General Vladimir and General Carville (or has someone asked this before)?

Also, is it possible to make RA3 Field Marshal Bingham to be leader of the Euro Alliance, and Prince Tatsu (from RA3) to be leader of the Pacific Front?

Prince Tatsu: WHY AM I WITH ALLIES?!

Also Prince Tatsu: WE ALLIED WITH THE CHINESE? THE CHINESE???

Also Prince Tatsu: *mentions something about muh superior technology*

Also Prince Tatsu: *bemoans the absence of Nanocores*

Also Prince Tatsu: *bemoans the lack of humanoid robots in Allied development*

Also Prince Tatsu: My nanobots when?

Also Prince Tatsu: *angers upon seeing the greatest weapon incarnated as the Centurion. Then Yunru snubs him and applies more salt.*

~~~~~~~
Prince Tatsu will find his life more befitting as a Foehn Memelord. But only after kicking Yunru out of it. :p
Prince Tatsu will eventually evolve into a brooding Gundam pilot with his time with the Foehn, and eventually half merge with some metallic alien (that may or may not be the Reptoir) after his mecha goes magic.
(Seriously, the Foehn is totally the Celestial Being. :V)
Because Paradox Engine is fukin broken af
Besides, Timekiller was released at the time when Mentalmeisters were afraid to go too far beyond in their challenges (or at least, judging by how tame their challenges were at first). Everything changes when 3.3.1 challenges came out and attacked
Are you sure, bro?
Are you really, really sure you want the likes of Paradox Engine in the challenge? Especially one supported by a map/scenario script. (Non-scripted ones are pretty weak af)
don't worry Loval. I'm working on one that involves Paradox Engine right now lol.
They will be sorry
Truth to be told I already made one where 60 Paradox Engines spawned from the entire map, along with Cyborg commandos and Rashidis, but FPS murdering drove us to sleep before we reach that point
I mean, figuring out the scripts for the Time Stop logic you see in Bottleneck takes skill. It is more than a silly ini-hack that made the Super Thor. :p
Don't tell me you plan to ship a Paradox Engine challenge without Time Stop. D:
If you can figure that out without anyone teaching/telling you how, you are at least 25% on the way to becoming a proficient map scripter (not including mapping). [Knowing what to Copy]
If you can replicate it to be used on a multiplayer setting, selectively against chosen players, 50%. [Knowing what to Edit / Change / Enhance]
Figuring out which bugs should be your fault or some other fault, and resolving them accordingly, 75%. [Knowing what problems arise and how to solve them]
I won't tell you the remaining 25%. Huehuehue. :D (That 25% tho, I think even we at MM will need some improvements on that front :/ )
Oh god, if there's an Epsilon mission where we have to destroy the Paradox Engine, I'm gonna cry. Mainly because I suspect that the Time Freeze will be used very liberally in that mission, and there's gonna be a giant navy and air fleet protecting the damn thing. Given that it's gonna be a ridiculously hard mission if implemented, I think I have an idea on who is going to make that mission... *Stares at lovalmidas*
BTW, did you guys take the Time Freeze weapon sounds from RA3's Sigma Harmonizer? They both make the same activation sound, I think. Would be fitting, seeing as they're both capable of stopping time.
Speaking of the Super Thor, it's actually relatively easy to make the regular Thor Gunship used by the Euro Alliance have the capabilities of the Super Thor. However, the ini-hack to do it breaks quite a few of the campaign missions that have Thors in them, in various ways.
Example: If a mission gives you Thor Gunships, there's a good chance they're either not going to have the Super Thor weapons, or they're only going to have some of them, not all of them. Also found out that the ini-hack made it so that some aircraft entered them, for some odd reason.
Campaign bugs aside, all Thor Gunships built from the War Factory would have the Super Thor weapons with the ini-hack. I found it quite fun to use, but it is horrendously overpowered having mass producible Super Thors. Kinda understand now why the Soviets wanted to stop Super Thor mass production so badly... XD
I think the last 25% is script optimization both related to performance (see slowdown and crashes caused by pathing) and related to tidiness of the scripts for better readability. Just a hunch based on bugs and my own work related problems. :p
Maybe when it's only about Paradox Engine lol
But yeah I'm still having some bugs (though I know how to decipher some internal errors that come with vanilla now). Mainly how that AI went to comatose after scriptedly pumping a few Russian/Psi-Corps army from barracks with perma-Mental AI boost perk on.
As for performance.... I have to say I got better since... well
Lovalmidas, im gonna guess how you did time freeze. You used the same script from ra2 that causes the game to pause but the video transmission in the radar is playing. However there is no transmission or the eva warning "incoming transmission", and the screen colour is changed to blue during the freeze (same as psychic beacon activation). Then all enemy forces are destroyed once the " transmission" ends.
Also, is the MIDAS ICBM named after you or after something else?
While it might not be an actual warhead, MIDAS is a series of satellites that were used to detect Russian ICBMs.
Not in Bottleneck, that one appears to use a (super?)weapon that EMPs all the enemies, but using the Siegfried shield effect
