here's a suggestion for the infantry only gamemode

EITHER a teir 3 support power for all sides that spawns a stallion transport. this would give all sides more options in moving their infantry around the map and more reasons to build AA then just rocketeers and gyros

and it would also allow you to capture tech buildings on islands that are otherwise currently completely useless

its that or a support power that airdrops one or two engis for the same reason

 

i personally would prefer the first option for its versatility, particularly on water heavy maps, but i can understand that some may feel like it doesn't fit in with the mode

either way i feel something has to be done cause as it is there are too many maps that have worthless features and tech buildings

Huntress is Foehn's healer, if you can't use the enemy infantry, sacrifice the weakest one. Epsilon will get something new in the next update.


Will Epsilion's healer be called an Apothecary?

Why you think that? (I am playing my chance for Oracle.)

 

An Apothecary was an ancient professional in the business of healing and the precursor to the modern day pharmacist. That is my thinking.

 

While an Oracle would be more focused on prophecy and prediction of future events. So the hypothetical Oracle would detect the movements of the enemy like the Mind Reader structure that already exists.

Here is my thought. I think Dustdevil is useless when you are Latin Confederation because they have Smoke Bombs to fulfill same purpose. Russia and China are fine. So I think Dustdevil can be replaced by a superior version/usefull aircraft for Latin Confederation.

The issue of inaccessible tech buildings in inf only occured to me as well, my suggestion was a tier 3 support power for everyone: Engineer Paradrop. Sadly, Speeder does not seem to be too eager to implement completely new features just for one specific gamemode, even if they are so direly needed.

Honestly, i'd love to see the Latin Confederation get a unique replacement for the Conscript, like a guerrilla fighter or something.

 

Perhaps an Irregular unit that could potentially start off weaker than a conscript and through promotions, become a legitimate threat when they become elites. Maybe make them have some sort of invisibility or out of combat health regeneration to promote hit-and-run attacks. Make his icon extremely Cuban revolution-esque too, for the sake of connecting the dots, since it's always felt off that the Latin Confederation would use soviet style conscripts when in reality i'd imagine something like each nation of the confederation using somewhat undisciplined militias who make up for their lack of discipline in their willingness to die for their country.

 

Keep the AK-47 though, that's extremely revolutionary and iconic. Essentially make unarmored conscripts with more speed and hit-and-run capabilities, rather than just marching into the enemy's vast meat grinding defenses and dying for whatever SSR the premier is feeling like that day.

 

I don't know, I just don't feel the Russian accent of the Conscript fits the Latin Confederation. I wouldn't even be mad if the Irregular was literally just a reskinned conscript with no changes except in voice and appearance. Plus I really like the idea of the Mexicans and Cubans (and etc) taking to arms against the American Imperialists with AK in hand, and country in both mind and soul, rather than being a drone handed the draft card and some armor.

The developers have already ruled out t1 basic infantry out of having unique subfaction t1 basic infantry units long ago for all the factions out of balance reasons, the insignificant/redundant/token changes that those conceptual basic units replace the already effective basic infantry and the headache of putting in the time and effort into coding in such things that could be instead used to get actually cooler, better, distinct, effective and balanced units down the tech tree. Besides this unit seems more elite or higher tier than being a mere replacement for the Conscript. Maybe they will add this unit higher on the tech levels.

If that's the case, then i'm down for it being a Tier 2 unique for the Latin Confederation that can also get inside of 'depiloted' vehicles, along with the other improvements it brings as a better anti-infantry infantryman. So that relying on the RNG of Jaguar Tanks dying isn't the 'only' option when using Morales and Jaguar Tanks in an immediate battle.

 

However after the battle's all said and done in an LC victory scenario (of aforementioned immediate battle), Engineers seem a little bit more sane as an ulterior option.

Jaguars' are basically faster and less durable rhinos really (iirc they have same damage) so you'll get some uses for Jaguars either way. Also, their pilots are still effective just enough to tanks.

 

And yeah, honestly piloting tanks with Engi are far saner, short of just destroying them

Jaguars' are basically faster and less durable rhinos really (iirc they have same damage) so you'll get some uses for Jaguars either way. Also, their pilots are still effective just enough to tanks.

 

And yeah, honestly piloting tanks with Engi are far saner, short of just destroying them

Rhino and Jaguar no longer have same damage, they decreased Jaguar's damage in 3.3.4.

"Smoke Bombs" may be replace by my new idea "X Firebombing", and "Dustdevil" may be replaced by "Arch Dust Devil".

Dustdevil is useful because it's unlocked in Tier 2. The support power Smoke Bombs is Tier 3, has to charge it's superweapon and it's only available at certain times. Dustdevil is available any time you want. That's is the difference and what makes Dustdevil actually useful.

Dustdevil is useful because it's unlocked in Tier 2. The support power Smoke Bombs is Tier 3, has to charge it's superweapon and it's only available at certain times. Dustdevil is available any time you want. That's is the difference and what makes Dustdevil actually useful.

They are almost the same thing. The only difference between them is one of them a unit, one of them a support power. Tech is not that important if it's not T1 to T3. For example, EA's Mirage is a T2 anti-armor tank due to that they don't have a T3 anti-armor Tank. EA have Charon but it is for multipurpose and very unique role. In another example, PF's Zephyr is T2 anti-armor artillery/vehicle. PF doesn't have a T3 anti-armor tank/vehicle.

Found something peculiar about the Aegis Cruiser. It has 2 "weapons", the normal one named "Medusa" and "MedusaHeavy" (supposedly used only against certain heavy aircraft).   

 

However, it appears that the warhead values are "swapped" for these weapons; "Medusa" is only used against aircraft with heavy armor type according to the code (these include Pteranodons and Thor Gunships, which are the only aircraft with the heavy armor type that are not campaign-exclusive), while "MedusaHeavy" is used against everything else.

 

This means that the Aegis Cruiser will only use the twin back missile batteries against Pteranodons and Thor Gunships in skirmish/PvP, while it fires the main front missile battery against more dangerous aircraft that have higher hit points but has the medium armor type such as the Kirov, the Irkalla and the Harbinger.

 

Is this intended?

Curiously, the 25% armor buff from a Zorbtrotter's deploy ability will also work on nearby Zorbtrotters due to CellSpread=1 (in other words, the other Zorbtrotters need to be very close to the deployed one for this to work).

 

 

Perhaps something can be done about it (like increase the armor buff radius or only the deploying Zorbtrotter receives the buff).

Drakuvs have not been seen in skirmish/multiplayer AI battles since version 3.0, as it has become a support power that AI does not use. Would be nice if AI could build the Drakuv normally in War Factories with the same tech requirement of Tier 3, and if possible, let them join friendly AI infantry squads to make use of the area-of-effect heal.  It may go against its current official description, but no one seems to notice and complain when a Stalin's Fist, Spinblade, etc. is built normally by AI Construction Yard.
