I know a mod that has the voice packs from TSF-----Devestation (a raden mod for YR)
Total Annihilation is the only battle strategy.

Hello, I don't exactly know where I should insert this comment but...

I have read most of the forums. and I just have some comments:

1. This mod is amazing! great AI! I've done modding on RA1 myself and built quite an impressive AI; this AI is much better than I expected!

2. Some people earlier said that NOD Laser Fence was useless. NO! It is absolutely the most amazing thing ever! yes, cloaking it is a plus. But have you ever tried a) power off the lazer fence, then b) when an enemy unit walks on it, turn it back on?? That's right! Immediate Execution! I love putting lazer fences on an end of a tunnel, it's halariously fun!

3. Yeah, AI harvestor does get stuck sometimes, but at that point, I'm sick of defending my base against their attacks and just want to kick their ass.

4. Nod recon bikes should attack air!! Like it's meant to in the first Command and Conquer! Otherwise Nod has pretty poor anti-air (when you need unites to defend you artillery, and Allied sniper takes out all your rocket infantry)

5. Better Stealth detection is required. Chameleon spy always gets in.

6. Spies cannot go into battle labs ?!?! boo... Oh well I can deal.

7. Snipers, snipers. Snipers! When there is an Allied Comp, all infantry are totally useless! Except Cyborgs.

8. Prism tank kicks ass too much (no other units can destroy buildings like prism tanks).

9. I've never seen NOD comps build harpies.

10. Battle Fortress is a piece of expensive crap! Can anyone tell me what it's good for?

11. Very good Mod, keep up the good work!

it seems that you never used all four sides at once....
when combined you becme allmost unstoppable...
stupid myan piramids.....bring on the nod artillary and sov. v3 launchers :D

Yes, they are from the last public release. For the next release I'll re-make the topic with new questions due to Ares, Launch Base, etc...

gaaaaaah. i cant get 0.99 b2 working. got legal version of RA2 and YR (both patched to right levels, but im using cracks, since i dont like to keep my cd-s in), im using vista, game is located on F disk. now, i tried to install according to instructions: unzipped it to F:\RA2\c&c reloaded folder, menu .bat couldnt locate YR 1.001 (even tough i have it installed!!!!), same story with mod manager. than i had enough of messing around and i just unzipped all files to game folder (probably a stupid thing to do). Now, menu .bat actually worked (well, it did something)!!!! however, mod manager still gave that old error message (btw in c&c reloaded folder, all went on same way). now, when i open menu .bat, it tells me, that "you must run this .bat file to activate c&c reloaded ONLY in your c&c reloaded folder". now, how th can i do that, when it doesnt detect my YR? i know, that new, standalone version is underway, but i just cant wait to do battle between soviets and GDI or Nod and Yuri.
please help me, thank you in advance

Hi Meelis,

Just by curiosity, can you rename your "F:\RA2\c&c reloaded" to only "F:\RA2\reloaded". I would like to see what happens in your case (I saw you in ModDB but here is a better place to answer you). I have the premonition that is the "&" symbol, if not, what language are you using for the game? If nothing worked can you paste the output console text the mod manager do in the window?
If you still have the problem Tomorrow I'll check tomorrow about what files were asked for the game detection (I don't do any legal or illegal game detection, only I check if you have 2 or 4 Yuri's Revenge game files in the mod folder or in a superior folder level, in both .bat & in the mod manager).

Next release I'll use another different software so I hope you will not have that problem again.

to be honhest, i dont understand, what this bit means: "If nothing worked can you paste the output console text the mod manager do in the window?"
thats probably because im not too familiar with coding & stuff like that, also english aint my primary language, but i hope it means what i understood.
anyways, heres screenshot from my mod folder (renamed it, still displays same error, after i took ss, i renamed game folder itself, but didnt help):

Your Yuri's revenge is not patched to 1.001, thats your problem.

Your Yuri's revenge is not patched to 1.001, thats your problem.

it IS patched to 1.001! dont you think i would ask for help, if it would be that obvious? im not THAT noob lol. but thanks anyways :)

Ok, I remembered that expandmd01.mix in the RA2 folder is needed for YR detection (always is generated when is patched) . As you can see is a very simple check xD

UPDATE: let me see the .bat file:
Since the mod is located in "F:\cnc red alert 2\reloaded" then the bat file will search in the RA2 folder located in "F:\cnc red alert 2\":
...
IF NOT EXIST ..\ra2md.mix GOTO ERROR
IF NOT EXIST ..\expandmd01.mix GOTO ERROR3
...

The first line checks if exist ra2md.mix in the RA2 folder & if not exist then you don't have YURI'S REVENGE installed.
The second line checks if exist expandmd01.mix in the RA2 folder & if not exist then you don't have YR v1.001 installed.

Is probably that te mod manager asked for more files just to be sure but well, these 2 checks are common on both methods.

As you can see I don't do complex checks only if the files are in the needed place.

If is true that your game is updated but you don't find the expandmd01.mix file then fake it :p

it seems, that i did had game patched, BUT i didnt had that expand01.mix file lol. Until your last message i didnt even notice that, because until now i looked, "aha, expand file is there" (actually that was my long-forgotten writing lol (wich was for some reason in RA2 folder.. hmm...), dont even remember why i needed it, i tend to skim read a lot), but now i searched for that file and... no file, however everything else seems to indicate, that i have patched the game. DL-d correct one and that fixed it. im sorry, that i bothered you for thing i should have come up sooner. awesome mod (didnt play full battle yet tough, kinda late in here).

so good luck with your mod and i will try to suggest some interesting ideas to help you improve your mod.

Not now, but is a thing that I would like to do in the future if EA release RA2/YR as freeware (like some TS mods did).
