Hmm, that's a difficult subject to write about, Matias. Have to be careful in the writing so not let it come over as pretentious crap. Anyway, at any rate it´ll be better than the overrated bullshit Kluun spits out :)

It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP

I know. My solution: Not fill it with implied meaning and symbolism. I'm not trying to prove some ideological/political/artistic point in my writing; it's just the effects and mysteries of dreams and the subconscious mind. Nothing more, nothing less. I think that innately, they are extremely interesting (for various reasons), and do not require symbolic spicing of any kind to be fascinating to many people.

And yes Vortigern, magic realism might be a way to typify it, were I interested in doing so. (:)) The stpries however don't usually take place in any setting that could possibly pass as a real place; things are usually too weird for that. Call it weird realism.

My favourite kind of realism. :)

Writing for writing's sake is something that seems to be on the decline, much as education for education's sake is. The focus has been shifted to learning that will put you straight into a career that will last you a lifetime, rather than a subject of your interest to make you a more well-rounded person and teach you about the world. Anyway, do what you love, and make it awesome. I have no doubt that you, Matias, will do both of those things.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Awesome is a terrible word, Vort. It's similar to "nice". You study English, be more eloquent. :)

Great, fantastic, magnificent, superior, excellent, meritorious, outstanding, peerless, exemplary, transcendentally superlatively incomparably brilliant. Satisfied? :)

"Titillating", Haldir?

Matias, that sounds aweso--*cringes*--visionary, staggering, brilliant, avant-garde... It's a pity that I'll never be able to understand any of it unless I suddenly find myself with a lot of time on my hands to learn a third language. As for Latin... well, I'm not sure I could manage figurative writing in it quite yet. Although I can form complete sentences. But not in English. Only fragments. :p

Bought a proper camera. First picture is, of course, a self portrait.

I think I'm going to be reading Richard III this year. No clue at all.. All I know is that I'm going to be reading a ton of Shakespeare stuff this year (excluding some of the Tradgedies).
Wait... what?

Well by request I'll show a few pictures of myself in my modern style.

First, my ABU Uniform (Airman Battle Uniform)
Picture is pretty shitty since it was taken with my old phone in the stupid mirror method...
Posted Image

This is me on Graduation day In my Blues Dress Uniform standing next to my MTI (Military Training Instructor) Or by the common man's term; Drill Sergeant.
Posted Image

And this is from my "town pass" after graduation, where we were allowed to leave base and go anywhere in San Antonio.
I'm also wearing my Dress Blues, this time with my Service Coat.. How spiffy.
(Me on the left if you couldn't figure it out..)
