Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

So the whatever is a tank? i thought it was a war-something.
Seriously though. I think its pretty boring to use alredy exisitng stuff and put it in the game just at it is.
Atleast give it a C&C-touch first. Like giving it a new "super high-rech thingy that does suff" or a seige upgrade or whatever.
I mean thats what, atleast i, find so intreresting about generals. Most things you mor or less recognise from discovery channel with a slight touch of either Shi-fi (US), Low-fi (Gla) or ...china-izm.

so in ur future patches and all, i think the flame general should have a flame defence tower, with various abilities, like naplam shells, and a stream of naplam etc, as well as the standard gattling cannon for fiery deaths and serving the enemys ass to them on a silver platter.

on first playong contra, i found the idea of a flame general v.cool, so i thougt, "hmmm, surely he must have a flame thower defence tower?" but, when i played it, i was disapointed, that there wasnt a flame tower, as i thought that would be like the main thing...but meh.

already done. If you dig around the Remix3 screen shots you can see some flame defenses in action.

also some other ideas:
plasma weapons included for the superweapon general, eg plasma defencne tower, plasma tanks, with like a plasma ball, or stream or summin. or electricity weapons, like a chain lightning tank, or lightning superweapons.
lazer troopers for lazer general, and other lazer additions, such as laser planes.
rocket pods upgrades for most of tank generals tanks, either naplam or HE
a nuke bomber for the nuke gen, like as small ones form the airfield.
loads more but cba saying, maybe l8r:)

Plasma is quite unrealistic, cause if you would make it realistic it would be overpowered, and I don't like the idea behind it, even that it would be possible

If water has a big enught speed it can penatrate steel like a hot knife trught butter and the army is already experimenting with that tech.

I'm familiar with these. Water cuters are also used for precision cutting of steel. Its cool, but I have concernse about range. Also, while it might be a viable weapon, there also becomes the question of effectiveness. For the same investment there are some other very deadly weapon options.

Sounds like most of ollis idea are based on other mod's and or CnC's
Lets see.

Thats the key part hear, shockwave (i think maybe project rapture) already has a plasma weapon that fires balls of energy and can also be set to stream firing mod too.

Telsa Coils/tanks anyone? thats rings a bell.
Lazer rangers are already in the mod i beleave and if not they have been in meny mods before.
Rocketpod upgrad for all tank general tanks?
Se one mod that has rocketpod upgrade on one of it tanks... think it was Project rapture could be mistaken.
I don't mind this but on all tanks = no thanks that too unbalanced
Errr hate to say this but a Nuke bomber for the nuke gen? have u played nuke gen before? They have tactical nuke migs. Having a bomber would be like just plain silly.
The bomber would naturaly be more expenstive and my pov (point of view) would be to say Screw this the tactical nuke migs can shoot air and ground targets and have nuke missiles 2 of them on the aircraft = powerful enough.
Why waste money building time and an hanger space on an aircraft that most likly is more costly, slower and going to be shot down more o and also has a longer build time.
All these idea's has been seen in other CnC's or mods some are ok but i like to see more originality

ok well i have played project raptor since like 2.5 and now its 7.0 and ive played shockwave, so i was looking for another mod to play, and i found this. LIKE WOW
ur mod is the best so far, and the reason i said those is to have the best of both worlds
and anyway, some of the tanks off shockwave and PR are an exact copy off red alert 2, one of the tanks i remember is the "stalker tank" and it fires a beam of energy at the target, and it disguses its self as a vehical, and it has the exact voice over as the mirage tank of Red alert. hmmmmmmm, not conincidence and they look the same, so maybe you could like take some ideas off red alert or other mods ( give it a different name !)
ne ways coooool work so far and btw the stuff on the main page, like the tarantula and AMOS, is that going to be in contra 5 ? or 3.0 remix. and will 3.0 remix have new units and the same stuff in contra 4.0 ?

maybe for USA, a semi automatic sniper rifle, the pathfinder can be upgraded with. and he has different modes of fire, semi automatic, for vehicals , single shot for infantry, but the single shot will be slightly quicker than the actual single fire off a normal pathfinder, and a cool down on semi auto, so its not too imba:P maybe he can get it when he is elite, and can be upgraded from tech centre, and equiped to him when he is elite. with the semi auto, you activate it, and he will rapid fire at the tank or vehical, untill it is destroyed. then a minute cool down. and he has armour piercing bullets for the vehicals.

ok got another one for you.
i feel that most of tank generals tanks/chinas tanks are imba. especially when ur up against them. hardly ne thing can stand up to the overlord. especially normal USA, but if your tank general fighting it, then...pile of piss
so the counterpart for overlord should be... Reagan tank. it has duel cannons, and can switch between HE shells(normal fire) and AP shells. AP shells do more damage but have a slower rate of fire, like 2/3 seconds slower than noraml, but do loads more damageto tanks. it also comes with a small machine gun for infanry, and extra damage. it also has addons like the overlord, a medium range grenade launcher, does medium/high damage depending on target, mediem rate of fire, flak cannon, only for ainti-air, and a microwave beam, for disabling buildings/harming infantry. also slows vehiclas down. or instead of microwave beam, ECM beam/missles for superweapon gen or a small laser turret for laser general.

also the tank isnt as heavily armoured as the overlord/emporor. so can move quicker, but less armour. still takes a bit of damage before it is destroyed

Check out Barrett arms... They have an extensive line of 50 cal rifles. Tried and true designs, that are feilded by Spec Forces all over the world..

AirF and SupW don't have heavy tanks because they make up for it in other departments. SupW has the LongArm (best artil in the game I think) plus the shield gen unit and a variety of light units that excell when grouped togeather (Patriot tank). AirF has the Rapier and King Raptor for heavy anti tank support.
Also, almost all factions can build infantry squads. 5 missle defenders can be built in the same tome and cost as 1 defender in older versions. Infantry now excell in defense and when used carefuly can easily crush most tank rushes. On the flip note, infantry are slow and get butchered when trying to attack a base that is well defeneded with Anti-infantry and Artillery.

but wat the main point that is coming out from the last couple of discusions is that there should be a new sniper, or anti tank gun in the game, as an upgrade for a faction.
i think you should consider these, and check out which one you like best and decide wether to put it in game.
