The British Humor is just asome, but aren't we so off topic we have hardly ever been?
One of my friends got trouble with remix, he got everthing installed where I said, at least I hope he did but gets a serious error at the start!
He isn't poasting cause he is to damn lazy!


He almost for sure did one of these:

1. Didn't follow instructions but says he did... A while back on the forum there was one user who issited he'd done everything EXACTLY as I said... and then it turned out he was putting the Remix.Big in the data folder under "My documents" instead of where it was supposed to go in programfile/Zerohour/Data/ ... he narrowly escaped a vicious beeting, and invoultary voulenteer work as a part time gimp at "Sodomy Summercamp for giant Mentaly-Challenged (wouldn't want to offend anyone :) ) boys".

2. Has another mod installed in either ZeroHour or Generals. Modding either, at all, will always cause Remix to crash. One guy on the forum ages ago was mad because Contra and Remix kept crashing on his system... He was trying to run the "Blood-Patch" mod at the same time... dumb ass... He narrowly escaped being hung upside down by a scrotum piercing made of Rock-Salt and Icy-Hot.

3. (The least likely)Has a version of the game that uses a different directory structure... maybe the German-language-10-years-edition... I don't know... but if the other true are PROVEN not to be then it is definatly this and he has it the worst of all.... He narrowly avoided buying a compatable copy of the game... once... the second time it got him for the whole 30-50 Euros.

he must have done sth wrong because you must have an iq under 70 to not be able to install remix correctly!

Its your friends fault no doulbt he has put the big file in the standard ZH folder and not in the data one. or something so simple as that. :)

And we maybe off topic but monty python is soo great u can't help but laugh at it.
And by far one of the funniest Lil quotes was.

can somebody please help me to play remix 3 alpha 2.01 online?? i dont know how :S
ive got hamachi now...but how do i actually get to play remix3 alpah
i click the multiplayer option..then which one do i click??

OK, with hamachi running and connected to the contra-remix network, click multi-player, click lan. from the loby you can join or create games.

you'll need all your players on hamachi (obviously) and that should be it. my hope is once a larger player base is online (once it goes public) there will be enough people on hamachi to get game connections most of the time.

Also, last night I uploaded v2.05 for testing. I didn't keep good track of the reported bugs or even my fixes between 2.01 and 2.05 so every known bug in 2.01 has to be double checked. but they normaly have to be checked anyway. one big thing to look at is everyones capture abities. Make sure your testing the capture because as of 2.05 the upgrade no longer even exsists (it was hidden but still used in 2.01). I tested a few generals and the capture button worked fine, but I always worry about every other general.

Also, evenings here I'll be trying to do some multi-player... like around 9-ish... I know thats 2am in england, but if your up I'll be gaming.

Olli, if your still having network problems I'll help you trouble shoot them. Get Ventrilo and set it up if you need help. Chat programs while game-trouble shooting is too much of a pain.

Pheonix... I tried finding the bug you were talking about with the Heavy command tank, but I couldn't find it. I tested it in game and it worked great... although I did notice some of the powers were comming down aufully close, so I upped the min-range.

the mobile MRIV luncher is 2 weak and slow(slow as in the missile is slow)

Humm weird cos all the powers was coming right on top of me and at first i thought it was my alli doing a sneak attack (the bastard) lol.


And well i did not know 2.05 was up sooo damn but idk if any of theses was fixed so i list them.

1) Krylin Neutron tank has no commands ie: stop, attack move and so forth.
2) troop drop zone has missing object in its info.
3) Troopdrop relay has in its info "tank drop" needs changing.
4) Officers frenzy does not while while in a vehical, could that be changed? (pictures officer in battle fortress drools)
5) Men could run over my mines i layed with the Cluster mine MRLS unit, all i kept seeing is gla workers trying to pass to build near some supplys, my minigunners had to deal with them.
6) Drop strips delvery is pretty slow to come in, This is bad if u need vehicals fast they take longer to come in than a war factory just letting them outta there doors. >.<
Units dropped also tend to drop on the building rather than the runway.
7) Dropstrip has no relay system, all units just pile up on the field or just next to it :(


is it possable to give the morta soldier the abilty to switch between HE and neutron ammo. (once the neutron upgrade from teh nuke is done.

The Mini-Mirv is made to be on the same scale as the IC-Nuke cannon or the heavy artillery. It can just baerly blow up a barracks or powerplany (I think it fails on power) but 3 can easily destroy 2-3 powerplants of they are too close togeather. Also, its complementary to the Heavy artil... in a Tournament mode game you can still build the mini mirv and the heavy artil, making tank the only general with 2 mobil superweapons.

does the tank general have the same nuke as othere generals?
the nuke is weak it didnt even destroy 2 war factory with 1 mech factory
i think i found a bug
in front of a supply depot the AI first built a supply depot and then he built a HQ on top of the supply depot and then he built a mech factory on top of the other 2 and then he built a war factory on top the other three buildings

y does the AI build so many HQs now and they r not even spread out
once 5 HQs was in 1 base

Pend how much ppl knows where 2 get the Alpha's
there was 78 ppl that downloaded the 1.91
and now i am waiting in line 2 get 2.05

Building buildings ontop of each other is a game engin bug that happens in zh without a mod and in other mods aswell. its random tho.
And pends AI is ment to be hard, The cyber genereal and all other generals once pends ai is added to them will build more hq's. reason for this is simple More HQ's mean harder to kill.

aslong as the ai has 1 command center he can use his generals powers and build replacement dozers/advance dozers.

ahhhh workers and dozers can cross mines without damage... thats always been so. Its so they can do the mine clearing duties without being killed. but other than GLA workers and dozers the mines should be pretty effective

Such is the price of trying to do something cool :( The relay system will never work. I've explained this in earlier posts... and the time issue I have no sympathy for... its infa china... you don't need no stinkn tanks! Grab a gun and run at them screaming!! ^_^ but more serriously, the longer build time (due to delivery) and higher cost is no accedent. Infa has a great airforce, top notch defenses and fantastic infantry... they ahve to take a hit somewhere.

Yes, it is possible... and I think it might be a good idea too.



Edit:
Creator gave some advice about the building stacks. They can't be removed completely, but they can be improved.

Tank general's nuke is the same as everyone elses... its identical to Nuke general's nuke.... (the only other nuke) I don't know what you did wrong, but maybe those buildings were too spread out.

As for the Alpha... theres maybe a dozen or so people here on Revora who I've told... plus thier imediate friends.... plus my imediate friends.... in all I imagine it got given to 15 people who gave it to 4 each.... that would make 75 downloads.

Woh i never noticed that all workers could cross mines lmao. They always seemed to stand at the edge removing them working in imo lmao.

O and pend could the infantrys universal tanks all be able to carry 1 soldier and make the bunker upgrade have 4 instead of 3?

And tiker the reason the queue is long is not because there all downloading that file, its because it is stored on a server with meny files that peaple are downloading the queue is only telling you how long it will take before the server will proccess your request is all.

edit: Can that krylin tank get a switch on it for a better weapon as well? like HEAT rounds.
Such a big sexy tank for such a small job :(

My opion is why buy that when u can build a fortress with 10 troops in and it has artil mode if needed, and u get a neutron artil peace. in short krylins a super nice unit but lacks the power to make me want to use it.

i dont know if any 1 has this problem but when i tryed 2 load the new map(that came with remix 2.05)the game kicks me out and says serious error
The map's name is Iron Dragon
i havent tried any other maps yet

and u took out the capture the building upgrade so now nuke general's red guard cant capture buildings(they have their boutton but they cant capture)

Iron dragon is not new with remix, iron dragon is 1 of the maps that he 1.3 zh patch added or was it patch 1.4 ? owell one of them added some maps and iron dragon was one of them.

Basicly it is an offical map, remix and contra does not have a mapper.

what upgrade? the capture buildings upgrades has not been in it forages, i can always capturebuildings without the upgrade.

and i didnt patch the game

thats because I hid the button and made the barracks gratn the upgrade automaticly. But it was never removed. As of 2.05 the upgrade is actualy GONE... thus freeing up a new upgrade to create the supply transfers
