The best anti-flame units are catapults with skulls, then a siege tower. Literally. What you do is move three or four Orc hordes mid-range from the archers, then come in from the side with a Siege Tower set to 'walk' to the other side of the group. This SHOULD take out more than half of them, then attack with those Orcs and a single troll with a club. Trolls with ricks also work rather well. Easterlings can be tricky to use, but they also work. (Run in line formation until you are right next to them; the speed helps more than the armour does.) Wait, the BEST anti-fire measure is two Ringwraiths and twenty trolls, but in not just every situation you HAVE twenty spare Trolls. :( Unfortunately. Mordor should have a summon power, 'Another Wave' with ten trolls and ten Orc battalions. ^_^ Or 'OMG, the uber-cheat' with 200 trolls and 5,000 hordes of orcs. ;)

I love updates. Especially spiffy Mordor stuff. :rolleyes:

5000 orcs and 200 trolls. ;) :rolleyes: thats a lot. it would be sweet though. its getting late in chicago. morgul comes soon. ^_^

LOL, you saw it before I finished working on the site :lol:

The faction links at the top now work. So you can jump right to the new Morgul stuff ;)

Yep, there they are, the Minas Morgul Walls :rolleyes: LINK to Screens

Next up is the gate and then putting the castle together ^_^

EDIT: I think I still have the black hawk down stuff, but I won't be making a mod of it. Or if I do I'll be really small, I'm not making a new faction or anything complicated. Though I will admit that I was thinking about doing some of the stuff just for the fun of modelling it :p maybe when KotW is done I'll do a few troops and a helo or something... and I would like to try my hand at animating. Depends on how I feel after KotW... lol, and I won't ever make a release date for it if I do it ;) grr deadlines.

i noticed. when i first saw it i was wondering why none of those links were working.

Edit: i didnt think you would release it. it seemed like it was a lot of work for one person to do it all.

Yeah, and 55 of them are in GtO's forum :p

BoT, the screens are lovely, although you might wanna scale the walls down abit, because the walls will crash into the buildings :lol: they should be the same size as the gondor walls, only with the tip included :p
And, I hate to see your screens, you should have thumbnails (guessing) so I can click on the new screens, instead of waiting 30 seconds for the old screens to load... :dry:

doh! I forgot about the back side of the walls hitting the buildings. Thanks Lauri, I'll watch out for this.

As for thumbnail images, I'm not sure how to set that up but as it's a good idea I'll figure it out and implement it. :p

Regarding that sketch, I drew a paper version before I started on the wall part...I just did a simplier version on with gimp to give you an idea of what I was thinking. The real version is much much more detailed :p I'd upload it but I don't feel like figuring out the scanner settings :lol:

Morgul Gate Work-in-progress.

After the morgul walls/gate are finished I'll get back to work on Gondor. I'll also be putting some of the new models I've been given in-game soon... mainly morgul and gondor as I recall.

Since it adds minas morgul, or have you fixed that?

Nope, this mod won't mess up any skirmish settings :grin: Minas Morgul is simply an upgrade for the mordor base (as well as a new map).

The way Morgul works is this:
-Buy "Minas Morgul" Spell
-Unlocks the new morgul buildings, walls, units, heroes for you to buy... does not upgrade existing stuff.
-You can now buy the walls for your castle, the new stronger expensive Morgul Orcs, Gothmog, ect.

Then as I said, there will also be a new map to play on: Minas Morgul. It will have the city, the road, and probably it will go out to the crossroads as well... and the 4 castles will probably be at the ends of those roads. I'm not sure yet, but that's basically how I see it working.

i dont know if you told us but when we get the morgul spell will the walls right then pop up around the bases, or do we have to upgrade each base/ each little section.

You'll probably have to build the walls, but that's a code issue and I haven't worked on the wall's codes yet.

well you could make it so when you get the power that broken walls go around each base. like the ones that are there if you destroy rohans or gondors walls. so instead the game would think all you are doing is repairing the walls. but i dont know how to do the serious modding like you so it may not work.

That's basically what I was planning to do ;) or something along those lines as it would definately be easier to code them that way.

Update: I think the gate model is done, just have to skin it now. I'll post a pic later when more of it is skinned. looks cool, I added a bunch of spikes to the top and sides. It's especially neat to see the way the doors open into the alcove I made for them. And I'm planning to change the speed at which the doors open so that just like in the movie they'll be quicker then Gondor's gate.
