Oops, I didn't post my post... I was typing it, but I forgot about it :p Anywho, It said that Yes I was a nOOb, and I beleive everyone was at some point in time. Not everyone shows it the same way, aka, I was a silent nOOb. I did expect the community to give me total quick fix answers, and was frustrated when they told me to do it myself. I just made sure to hide that fact so I wouldn't look stupid :p

Of course I was a goddamn n00b once, I just wasn't around these forums. I just fiddled with RenX and Nick's Tutorial, to be a modeler. Never really reached that, since I still suck at it. ;)

It was the same thing with me, but i had started messing around with worldbuilder before i joined the community. I'm still a newbie when it comes to really good maps, but i'm reading the articles and learning pretty quickly.

I was wondering: is it alright to look at someone elses map.ini, copy (for example) a weapon out of it to your own map.ini file, change the amounts and see what it does? (and after that, keep it in your map.ini) :crazed:
(If it isn't ok, do I have to set credits in the map.ini?)

Depends how much you change it. It's similar to FX particles: if you say only change the size and/or colour then credit is due. If you use the references a lot throughout, perhaps it would be prudent to mention the name(s) at the start of the ini file.

I'm a little confused because it seems that this forum should be about modding alone for BFME II (and its expansion) which would mean there should only be discussion concerning making modifications of the game. Despite this, there seems to be a significant number of threads concerned only with making an ini file for a map to share on the standard version of the game it is for: (Example 1; Example 2; Example 3; Example (perhaps) 4).

Seeing as there is quite a lot of overlap between changing the settings of the game for a mod and changing them for a map, is there anything wrong with letting them overlap here?

If it's a question about a map.ini file, they can generally go in either the Worldbuilder forum or the modding forum. Either of them is fine. If its just a map scripting question though, they generally go in the Worldbuilder section.
