I was thinking, about the Mumakil and them Beasties. My guess is that they will have weaknesses different from each other. While the Mumakil is vunerable to fire arrows because of the Howdah, it's less vunerable to pikes because of it's tusks. Whearas the Great Beast, although similar to the Mumakil are less vunerable to fire arrows than they are to pikes. Or if archers reciece the Marksman upgrade will they be able to target specific targets on the cretures making them die quicker or slower depending on where you hit them?

I think the idea behind the marksman upgrade is to ASSUME that they have better aim, thus causing more damage. I'm sure it's possible to be able to have certain parts of a unit be attackable, but unless you are zoomed very close when playing, this would be unnecessarily difficult. Also, and remember I know very little about modding, but it seems to me that that would require units to be composed of multiple models with each part having its own stats and whatnot. So basically, I'm saying if you upgrade a unit with the marksman ability, it automatically would be targeting a certain area and causing damage. Get my point?

When units fire, they have a chance to actually hit the unit they aimed for. If they fail to actually hit the target, the arrows will fall in a radius around the target, thus potentially hurting other nearby units.

With the marksman upgrade, additionally to being able to deal more damage, the units will aim more accurately, and their scatter radius will be reduced so that units from the same horde may still be hurt by the arrows.

I was hoping they would make it so that archers can miss :grin: it gets really annoying when a battalion of archers can kill a retreating battalion that's already weakened :grin:

Burk-Khazâd -> Burk(Axe) Khazad(Dwarf) so a Dwarven Axemen?
Rakhâs-udrig -> Rakhas(orcs) Udrig(Bane) so Orcs Bane?
Sigin-zigil -> zigil- spike Sigin- long so maybe Long Spikes? Some kind of Pikemen?
Tarâg-udrig -> Beards(Tarag) Beardsbane? Doesn't make sense...
Baraz-Khazâd -> Baraz(Red) Dwarves
Khazad-Uzbadu- Dwarven Lord (Uzbad Khazad Dumu means Lord of Moria eh?)
Burk-Gabil - Great (Gabil) Axemen? Or maybe
Khazâd-mahalu - Aule Dwarves (mahalu= Aule)

Am I correct? (I hope at least 1 will be correct)

I'll just quote this earlier post, and not say anything more :p

Sorry but just to be a pain Uruk :sad2: that the above are translations ie (Baraz-Khazâd - Red Dwarves or Burk-Gabil - Great Axes). So if u are going to be consistent, you should have given a translation of Raven rather than the role. I did notice that u named the roles of the pikemen and infantry but you should have been consistent to keep up the consistency okay ill stfu now

I know, that scouts aren't a translation for ravens, but you notice next to the translations there's the possible role they fill. But back on topic. You know it's been translated that the Tarag-udrig was something like Beardsbane, which sounds rediculous, I think it's just a typo, they are probably Trolls bane

I love how people actually read my answers to their questions :sad2:.

It depends on whose etymologies you're using. David Saolo uses tarag as troll (as shown on the moria dwarf spear) so it's possible there were different dialects of khuzdul.
