Yep. There's gonna be a plot near your base in every map by the looks of it, plus an additional number that have to secured like outposts. That's another reason why I like this game: more diversity.

Some have them quite close, others dont. I have only added them to my maps so far, bar VoA, Nuk did the all the others.

Lothlorien has three bases and a mf plot right next to each. There isnt room for any more without making the map bigger.

Dimrill Dales (4P) has one next to each base, including the 2 expansion camps plus another two in the centre by the mirrormere which provide a tactical advantage due to the cliff that split up the map.

BTW, am hoping to start and finish another map by the end of half term, and when I do I'll post a teaser shot of DD and the new one.

And does no-one else want to help make maps? Theres a new map list on the map thread.

Lothlorien is a tiny map. I might make it bigger when I finish all my other maps, same with Isengard, but I doubt I will.

Remember that a faction should be able to function well without using any minifaction units. That's our goal, and it can be a bit of a pain.

Hey Nertea, like you said about a faction being able to funtion well without minifaction units, well when it comes to Mirkwood, well they have no cavalry whatsoever, while the Mordor and Gondor have Trolls and Knights, while Mirkwood have none. But they could have something like Hunter Companies, I dunno, but I guess it's a bit late now seeing that Mirkwood is complete

Mirkwood isn't supposed to have a lot of cavalry. Their strategy is more stealth and uber archer-based.

Whilst a faction should be able to function without its minifactions, you should put units in just for the sake of it. If cavalry doesnt suit Mirkwood then they shouldnt be there. Mirkwood will have strength in other areas.

The same applies to Rohan except for the other way around. If there style is still so cavalry based they don't really have to have a basic infantry unit and I honestly don't think they should. (not counting peasents)

I think Peasants should have spears, spears are much cheaper and more common then swords.

But that would make them anti-cavalry, which would just be all wrong.

Why? Because they didn't have spears in BFME?
I think it's a good idea - I mean, all peasants had some sort of fork-spears-whatever-they're-called. I like it.

Well sure, pitchforks, rakes, and the like would be nice, but truly anti-cavalry spears wouldn't fit with them well.

Hey, I had the idea of the rakes! :p But seriously, rakes and pitchforks and the like would look good on them, and it would give reason to make them slightly anti-cavalry.

Most spears (in real life) wouldn't really be anti-cavalry anyway, as they're just way too short. Pikes are the true anti-cavalry, leaving spears + shieldwalls as anti-infantry. Of course, I'm not implying anything about the mod here.

I'm all for the pitchfork/rake idea, but I don't think it would realy make them anti cavalry.

Agreed. I don't really think Rohan should have a purely anti-cavalry unit. (no offense to your mod, Cel)

I would hate to see this mod ruin rohans cavalry style by giving them an anti cavalry unit.

That's true, though in reality a spear would do more damage to a horse than a sword.

I'm all for the pitchfork/rake idea, but I don't think it would realy make them anti cavalry.

I'm not saying that they should be, just with the addition of the pitchfork (if there is gonna be one) would give them a very small bonus against cavalry.
