Mercenaries of dwarves and men in one battalion.

Sounds brilliant, they must be the elites of Dale, are they though? I mean judging by the screenshots they look pretty well armoured, unless I'm mistaken.

I found them in the old RA forums section, under the topic of "high res screenshots from the trailer", there was this army of Men of Dale, and among their ranks were some hevily armoured dwarves

This is what I found:

the trailer is all alpha phase work, so it's not very usefull to think about the dwarves you saw there... almost everything is updated since the trailer came out.

IIRC those were just some units of Dwarf Warriors and some units of Dale Men-at-Arms fighting together, not adventurers.

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

Moving on, does anyone have an idea of what the powers for the wainriders and castellans are?

Castelans are just gonna be a berserker unit with higher armour, aren't they? And apart from the Morgul Knights the Wainriders are gonna be the only cavalry for Mordor, so unless they have like a mount power where other units are able to climb aboard I don't think they will have a power, unless you've seen screenshots of their Palantir images and they do have some sort of ability.

Nope, if you look at the pictures, the Castellan has got 2 powers, and the Wainrider has 1.

In the screenshots I saw that the wainriders had no special ability but in the Rhun minifaction page, the description of the wainriders mentioned something of "using the power that its speed bestows to his advantage"; and on the Wainrider render I saw an icon of a wainrider, mabye it's some sort of trample ability; similar to a mumakil's Stampeed ability.

Yeah that would be cool. I could just imagine pewny gondor troops being mowed over by a speeding chariot and it is awsome.

Interesting. I would've thought Dwarves would've been to proud to become mercenaries. Meh, sounds cool.

Well they're only sorta mercenaries... more adventuring types who can be pulled into your army quickly to bolster your troops

Do they have timers, like mercenaries in Age of Mythology? Or are they just normal units.

Probably not, timers are unrealistic and I didn't like the timer concept in AOM anyway.

Yeah, I thought that was the case.

Again Uruk King comes to the rescue with his uber-power-icon-and-description-interpretation skills (if you have to read that twice, don't bother :p). That makes sense though, or it could be a plain speed bonus that could be very effective when in a large group.

Interesting. I would've thought Dwarves would've been to proud to become mercenaries. Meh, sounds cool.

I see, thanks.

That's possible as well Olorin and sounds cool, making the wainriders even more deadly than the Morgul Kinghts, I also hope that Archer units and heroes can mount wainriders.
