I would just like to point out a couple details here, in the movie Haradrim and Easterlings are portrayed as, caucasian or slightly middle-eastern. Even though Middle-Earth was quite different in geography than the modern world we all know, the Easterlings should still be Asian/Oriental and Haradrim should be Black and the northern haradrim and South Rhun minifaction should probably be Arabic. Sorry if this has been covered before, but I saw the pictures put up a few posts back of the Haradrim, and I was worried you might not change that, small details I'm sure but it really bugs me when people don't put in details when they are right in front of them (i.e. The Lord of the Rings).

Obviously Peter Jackson wanted to avoid racial criticism for portraying asian and black peoples as evil

Yes true, but all it really boils down to is geography, the men of Rhudaur were corrupted by Angmar and they were caucasian, anyone who says that either Tolkien or Jackson are racist should be drug out into the streets and shot :p (kidding about that last part.... maybe). However this goes off topic obviously and I will go no further. I only wanted to make sure if RA would get these small details right, or at least find out if they were not going to make any changes to it.

Er...what? I believe you mean the GW invention of an "Isengard Troll".
If that's correct, here's some reasonings:
A.) Nowhere in Tolkein's works are Trolls mentioned as being used by Saruman in either warfare or work.
B.) Nowhere in the New Line films are Trolls shown as working for Saruman (with the exception of a in which an Ent is using what appears to be a Troll as a club)
C.) I doesn't really make sense - not to me, at least - for Trolls to fit into Saruman's battle strategies. Sure, their brutality is useful, but they can't move in the sunlight, are not very mobile, and are not very intelligent - none of which fits well with Isengard's raiding parties.
Cheers,
-mike

The Isengard's Moria mini-faction has a Cave Troll, you could pretend it's GW's unusual Isengard troll. Hehe :)

Only problem with that is that even the Uruk Scouts aren't that stealthy. I think it was mentioned that Legolas sensed them coming from afar, and Aragorn could hear them running and was thus able to track them. Uruks just aren't that subtle. :xd:

That doesn't make them blend in the woods...

Uruk Scouts = Scouts, fast troops moving fast, doing whatever... still doesn't make 'em blend in the woods...

And are you saying that Legolas, and all other elves, and Aragorn and the Dunedain should spot them?
Unfair for Erebor, Harad, Mordor, Isengard, Dale...

edit: spot them without beeing to close I meant :xd:

No I wasn't saying that, I was saying that Legolas as an Elf has a load of racial benefits, including heightened senses, Aragorn being a Dunedan and more closely related to Elvenkind than other men, has similar personal traits, like jeener senses than most men

then.... what were you saying?

unless you didn't mean anything by implying that Legolas was an Elf, and Aragorn a Dunedain... :p
*wrong topic to continue I would say though*

If one paid enough attention to Nertea's posts in the 'Rohan' thread:

Meduseld Royal Guard
-They're the awesome guys
-Special Cavalry
-possibly limited in number
-swords and shield
-throw spear ability
-Can get FB, Banners, upgrade X, horsie upgrade (maaaybe)

1) The Royal Guard will obviously be on horse, but should they be on foot as well? Elite infantry, some people seem to want it but consider that we don't want to impinge upon Westfold's infantry.

We've always known about them. But they don't look like the models. Plus I don't think some staff members liked the concepts.

A question about the mahud. Will it be an upgrade for the mumakil or can you buy it in the fortress or barracks? If its not an upgrade to the mumakil will it have a mount ability? And can you see the mahud on the mumakil or its just like 50+ damage and 50+ defence or both?

It always bugged me that the banner carriers in vanilla BfME didnt reveive the same upgrades as the rest of the battalion so if you got heavy armor he'd still have the silver armour and the others that bronze crap. Will this be corrected?

They got rid of the light sabers and gold armor, but as for upgrading the Banner Carrier, I don't know.

I think so though

To Bard

I think the Royal Guard should be able to dsimount, but it should take longer than other cavalry.

Yes this is the OG Turin, from the very begining. Just stopping in to say hi.
