I can't remember you saying that. If you're trying to hint at something, I might send the map to you as well as Numenkah (sp?) when I finish Anduin.

VVV

I meant to do a full-sized shot, but forgot and as WB is such a resource hog and so fking slow, I couldnt be bothered to open it up again. :p

Excellent work so far, mh_gollum! Did I ever mention that I've been looking for a Lothlorien map for TEA for the longest time... *pokes at seeing my Elves on the map already :D *

Can't wait to see more out of you!

First of all, exceptional work mh_gollum. I can't wait to see more of your work. :p

Secondly, (points to quote ^^) does this mean that we might have a new mapper for TEA? :)

Nice to be appreciated. I've got a few exams in the next fortnight, but after that I should be able to get going. I'm going to do a few more campaign conversions. I did some a few years ago, including a Minas Tirith with AI, but it got deleted some how. I am hoping their on disk somewhere. And I dont mind Celeglin using the maps if he wants them.

So my to do list:
Lothlorien [done]
Vales of Anduin
Minas Tirith
Edoras
Helms Deep
Isengard
Moria

I also played an excellent Dol Amroth map made by someone else a while ago, it was a scripted map. It was made by {IP}Sharbturburzum, so hopefully I can get permission.

Hopefully by then I will have gotten into the swing of things and can start doing some Rhovanion maps.

Cool, I cant believe I am actually going to be part of this mod

Well you gotta wait a bit! Lothlorien is the only finished one. I spent a couple of hours editing the scripts and converting to singleplayer for Dol Amroth, Helms Deep and Minas Tirith last night, but am yet to test them, and still need permission from Istari Prod. for DA.

Update: AI isnt working yet for HD or MT. MT currently ends straight away, but I had that problem last time I did the map. I wish I had a copy of it :(

BTW, what ideas do staff have for a Shell Map?

Update 2: Minas Tirith is now working with AI  yipee. Only a couple of bugs that can easily be fixed (trebuchet appearing, lack of money, disappearing walls and civilians stopping econ plots being available)

Best of wishes to your mum again, Nuku.

BTW, what ideas do staff have for a Shell Map?

The staff had a Shell map idea (some of us did) for a miniature Rhovanion map where the camera would pan through the regions (in sweeps?), passing and halting momentarily on the more prominent Wilderland locales (Erebor, Dale, Esgaroth, Lothlorien, the Woodland Realm, Dol Guldur, Moria, Gundabad, the Carrock, the Iron Hills etc). A bit like a more detailed version of the "Living World Map" in BFME1.

I'm not sure if the idea was agreed upon by the entire staff or confirmed though...

The same thing really, just a camera panning over a map like in the living world map. I thought I put that in my post but must have forgotten.

Btw, I'll send over Lothlorien with Minas Tirith tonight once I've fixed the few issues.

Edit: send to Nuk

If the maps get accepted, I might start a thread listing all the maps needed with links to completed ones and also saying which members are working on them.

I think it would be cool if - for the single player (or campaign) - you could play a "Lothlorien" map and a "Calas Galadhon" map. Different parts of Mirkwood would be cool too, but I'll save that for the Campaign thread. *goes off to post*

After searching through all the maps on MEVault, I have copies of:

Dale, Dorwinion, Esgaroth, Lonely Mountains, Misty Mountains, Mirkwood (Lost Realm of Thranduil), Weathertop and Grey Havens.

Edit: None bar the last two are good enough, and the rest will need too much work, however I got some good inspiration from Dale and Esgaroth about creating new buildings from existing ones, which will help with Anduin.

Also, can someone direct me and others to the best source of inspiration for these maps? Photos, drawings etc. Preferable on the web.

And am I the only one mapping atm? Where is everyone?

Edit: was searching for Erebor pictures and discovered that the ginger twat from BFME2 was actually called Thrarin and was a smith. That's EALA for ya!

Pick up the books and read them for the most part.

Certain places (Thranduil's halls and Beorn's house are examples) have illustrations actually drawn by Tolkien himself :thumbsupsmiley:

Well, that's in rare versions of the books if I'm not mistaken. All I got in mine were words and maps. :thumbsupsmiley:
