Could the other map be for the campaign? I think it would be great if we could change some characters, you seem to be a hit Aridor :p

If I can get a copy of the Mod in progress then I could start such things. My mapping class is in session here.

I'll send up a full WB pic as soon as the map is a state to make it worth it.

No campaign stuff, I've said it several times in the IP forums. Not enough stuff is in game to script a full map.

Well I'm a german campaign mapper of 3rd age mod -campaign and the Auenland Mod campaign.

I'm espacially a bfme2/rotw - mapper but also i'm able to map(it's right english?^^) with bfme1^^.

So I decided to create a few maps for you xD ;)

I want to create the "Vales of Celduin"
but as a 2 player map.

it is okay?^^
if you want, than say it^^, if you like to have a 3 or 4 , perhaps more players map.

i will show a few screens later^^.

Thanks for the interest. Vales of Celduin is a large area, so I'd prefer it to be 5-6 players, if thats OK. A similar map to this would be the East Bight, which is smaller, although that is on the list I gave Istari Productions to do, but only one of them is mapping for us atm, so you could do that instead

Here's a good list of maps that would be nice, for anyone to do:
Vales of Celduin (5/6 Players)
East Bight (2/3 Players, Clearing in East Mirkwood)
Gladden Fields (Place where Isildur died)
Northern Mirkwood
Celebrant (Battle field near Lothlorien)
Minhiriath (largish map)
Dunland (6 Camps)
Paths of the Dead (I have concept for this)
Lune (River east of the Blue Mountains)
Desolation of Smaug

Hmm... that's a surprisingly short list ;)

you're speaking with an old mapper^^, no problem^^.

then i'will make a 5-6 player-map.
with rivers. wish you a lot or only one with a lot of arms or only one?or no one?^^

edit: will you edit the campaign of bfme, in your fantastic modification?^^

Just a river going through the middle will do fine. Here's a map of the area:
Posted Image
So basically, a 5 player map with plains and a river cutting through the middle, with several fords to cross.

Here is a picture that was used on our old forums, could be some inspiration:
Posted Image

A campaign is unlikely for an initial release because all units, buildings, powers have to be in game in order to be added to the campaign.

And are then any images of your work around? You're sites in German, and Goodle Translates causes Firefox to go really slow.

And what do you mean by "you're speaking with an old mapper"

celduin.
it should be a 5-6(till now it's a 5 player map) map. with woods and rivers.
till now it looks nice, next week i'll show a few screens.

now the half map is textured.

here are two wb-screens:
trees and objects will folliow after the textures because of the functionality of my wb.

one question: wish you more ECON_FLAGs? because of your minifactions?

the left side will be wood(the end of the greenwood(damn, how do you call this in english? xD) between the little mountains there will be wood too, but not as much as on the left side)

Mirkwood ^_^ ;)

Looks very professional so far. :p

RE - Economy Plots - I'd like Celduin to have several Minifaction plots (5+) because it is a very accessible area to Mirkwood, Erebor, Dale, Rohan and Rhun so place extra Economy plots and call them MINI_PLOT_X or whatever so I know which ones need to be replaced.

That's great. The Shire isn't on the list atm, because it needs specialist buildings, although there are some in game but unusable atm, so I could bug someone into adding them in.

These are all fairly small maps:

East Bight (2/3 Players, Clearing in East Mirkwood)
Gladden Fields (Simple 4 player map with river somewhere)
Northern Mirkwood
Lune (River east of the Blue Mountains)
Desolation of Smaug (not really on my full list but its an option)

give me the mod and i will map the shire(joke) xD

ahm... i will choose the east bright or the north-mirkwood

how do you think east bright should look like?

a green beautiful area?
or something like that?

north mirkwood is like the fangorn, isn't it?
