No new structures for this release... they are all in Beta IV... (Wildman Tent was the last added I think), but many new units. All of them are in Screen Shots thread though :sad2:

There should be an a button in unit-building structures that you can select and de-select that will automatically charge you for unit upgrades, and they come out completely upgraded (ex heavy armor).

Provided you have researched the upgrades at the appropriate building first.:ninja: Good idea though.

Simply make all future skirmishes in multiplayer (network) mode. Just make yourself player 1 and all other positions with AI. Then you can always save a replay. The only difference to standard skirmish is that you cannot pause the game. :)

Can replays be shared? The actual files seem to be really small. I just played a VERY long skirmish and the replay is about 60 kb, and I'm thinking there is NO WAY all of that data can be compressed that much... BTW, will share if I can. Men (me) + Elves (hard) + Dwarves (hard) vs. Isengard (brutal) + Mordor (brutal) = one heck of a ride... The dwarves got pwnd pretty early on, too.

The data is small because basically only the randomized AI decisions, the player commands and the basic setup are saved (map, factions etc.). It's called 'REPLAY' because when loading a replay you basically are letting the computer play the game, making the same decisions as in the saved game leading to the exact same outcome.

BTW, you will need the EXACT same mod to use the replay. Otherwise it may start but nothing or only strange things happen during the replay.

If you want to post the replay, add it to the post as an attachment (zip it first).
I will open a new thread for Replays in a minute. :)

I've been thinking...and what all factions really need are more unique units. units that delve away from the rock-paper-scissors combat system and add to more unique strategy and honor the actual number of units present.

The Goblin unit(s) could be numerous things...from shamans to Giant Goblins (battle of the five armies). Mordor could get a more unique uruk unit, or perhaps Orc Raiders, which do mroe damage against structures. Isengard Could get Uruk captains, spear-weilding commanders that give leadership, along with the ever-anticipated uruk sappers.

Men could get a newer kind of dunedain, perhaps with bow-sword toggle. Elves....they actually cover the specialty unit area quite nicely, but an Elven Watchman, or something like that, would be cool. Dwarves have the most opportunity IMO...branching from sabateurs to giant siege machines.

Something about swordsmen, pikemen, archers, and cavalry seems REALLY boring to me. Sure it'd take work, but everything does. And this is just a suggestion.
If I were you and you were me I'd have a different face.

Forgine me GN but I see no uniqueness in this?

The Goblin unit(s) could be numerous things...from shamans to Giant Goblins (battle of the five armies).
> We've talked about Shamans multiple times in the Moria thread... Most people don't seem to think they fit the Lore... (1) Movies and if not there, then 2) Lore. U know!?) ;p And giant goblins was not in the movies either... plus we don't need them. We have the Moria Guard now =p
Mordor could get a more unique uruk unit, or perhaps Orc Raiders, which do mroe damage against structures.
>Unique? Rather moving back towards the regular game? lol, no I understand, but the structure damaging unit will be Corsairs with their "bombs".
Isengard Could get Uruk captains, spear-weilding commanders that give leadership, along with the ever-anticipated uruk sappers.
> Leadership are for heroes in SEE. Sappers... don't know what those are.

Men could get a newer kind of dunedain, perhaps with bow-sword toggle.
> This I would like for Dunadain and Ithilien too. Ned no new unit for that.
Elves....they actually cover the specialty unit area quite nicely, but an Elven Watchman, or something like that, would be cool. Dwarves have the most opportunity IMO...branching from sabateurs to giant siege machines.
> I find elves rather complete as a faction.... SEE has never been about adding a million units really. But we'll se. No new elves for this release though.
Something about swordsmen, pikemen, archers, and cavalry seems REALLY boring to me. Sure it'd take work, but everything does. And this is just a suggestion.
> Lol, sounds like you need to play another game my friend? :p

wow...i got pwned....

ok....lemme clean up the messa words i layed. The giant gobs are the moria guard....heh. Need to read stuff more...-_-

I don't see shamans as antilore...but that's your decision.

Yeah....understand the thing with uruks. Orc Raiders...meh...steal resources? IDK....i'm fishin...-_-

Uruk captains are single powerful units. Sappers are the bezerkers with bombs on their backs.

Agree on the dunedain....that could just be them personally with no new unit.

Elves are complete too...still fishing...

I like the sabateur for the dwarves.

Ever have one of those moments when u really REALLY wanna give somebody a good idea...but you don't have that many ATM? Yeah....

I see that here is alot of ideas how to improve the SEE mod.
I will add my ideas. :-)

1. reskin please the mordor siege tower - the trolls should have helmets ( it was in the movie)
2. mordor catapult was a bit bigger in the film, or? And please add to this catapult a troll who was in the film - trolls reload it.
3.Make a special catapult for men - as it was in the movies. here is a picture:

http://www.rhovanion...l...0&width=700

and do not say that it is a stealing because i saw a mod which used you mordor and urukhai scouts skins, Nazgul.

thanks, Peter

If it was done with both parties agreeing, then it is not stealing. Do you mind telling me where you found the scout skins?

Soit would be great if you add this my ideas into your SEE mod.

The mod which uses your skins is named LOTR-cesky , its from my country Czech republic , you know.

This mod doesnt have its own web site, the authors are in the same shool as me and they sell they work for 100 Czech crowns to anyone who wants.

So thats all.

That would be stealing and HIGHLY illegeal for REAL. Not only bad manners to steal my skins without asking (not that I mind that much personally really, but it's just bad etiquette and really n00b-ish to take without asking, and I bet I don't get any credit either, right?). But what's REALLY off is that they commit a fellony for real by selling the mod for cash!

WTF!?!?!?!? you can't SELL a mod!!! And yes that is stealing, sadous. That's rhovainian Alliance material, and if what you say is true, that doesn't give SEE rights to do it to RA.

About the other stuff... Please don't post screens from RA. It could upset them as they are protective of their work and worried other mods would "steal" ideas from them. And why shouldn't they - they have worked for ages on that historical mod, so leave RA out of this production so we can avoid all further comparisons. I am not here to compete. I don't wanna be the reason for any suspisions of "stealing ideas". Of the things you have posted lately we have already planned:

1 - Beast for Mordor and have Donkeys or Ponys for Dwarves instead.
2 - Trolls pulling catapults.
3 - Larger trebuchets.

1) Requires a lot of remodeling, and might not be done. But it's planned since a long time back.
2) Same here, but since it was suggested by TDP, I guess he might be ready to do it for Beta V.
3) Can't be done since the soldier models are part of the trebuchet model, which would scale them both. I've always wanted a more movie like model for the trebs as well, but I won't go there to avoid any further comparisons with RA. So the trebs will stay the model it is from EA, but we might separate the men from the model so we can at least scale it =)

About the Siege Towers - I see no need to alter them? The trolls would probably be switched to the same trolls pulling Grond, but I doubt we will do animns for loading catapult, but who knows, maybe TDP will feel up for it. Again - have no idea if other mods have done the same and I rather keep it all non knowing :thumbsupdrool:

NO he didn't... he asked if we would do something LIKE that... He's point is that they look like that in the movies and I agree, but it's not RA's ideas, but rather PJ's... BUT... THAT model in particular is RA's off course and I explaind pretty clear what I think about posting such things...

Take one advice though, stay out of all things that seem to have a tendency to blow up :thumbsupdrool: T3A is rather turbulent right now as it is... =p
