Umm these wouldn't be useless. I like the 2nd idea. Yes it does seem complicated, but the game is more fun the harder I have to think.

you guys understand that making a " small city " near your fortress, is PP feeding to the enemy, dont you ?
the houses are woulnareable, and if its in RJ maps, then they are practically unprotected, since you cant build walls, and having a number of troops camp there just to " defend against attack that MIGHT come " is wasting the pop limit.
"Let this scar signify the first blow against the mortal world."
"From this seal shall arise the doom of men,"
"who, in their arrogance, sought to wield our fire as their own."
"Blindly they build their kingdoms upon stolen knowledge and conceit."
"Now they shall be consumed by the very flame they sought to control."
"Let the echoes of doom resound across this wretched world, that all who live may hear them and despair."

"Tremble, mortals, and despair! Doom has come to this world!"

If someone played as Gondor, it'd look more realistic if (on RJ maps) you'd build these within the walls. Besides, Most people would not build these on an RJ map, the neutral capturables provide enough resources and pop cap.

And on normal maps? Well, these are a farm equivalent.

Note the word 'equivalent'. By this, I mean they replace the farms, but allow for a more 'Great Nation of Men' feel to Gondor.

Seems pretty complicated...meh.

I agree...Id prefer just switching to blacksmiths...

Do you know how hard it is to all your vital military buildings inside an rj castle atm? Now you want to put rb's in there too? You're gonna have like a max of four, and have serious trouble putting all your other buildings there.

I'm more of a realist :p

I think it's way to complicated for people who just wanna play gondor to jump in and understand, plus impractical.

So I suggest just giving gondor blacksmiths as their rb. Forged blades at level 2, heavy armor at level 3. Unique, no other faction has it, and changes up gameplay a small amount, because gondor pretty much has a fixed time before they can get upgrades, and resource harassment against them is much more effective if you keep killing all buildings close to ranking up. Unique, cool, BFME1ish, and practical.

Well at least also have the marketplace as an RB as well, but one that gives a variable amount of resources and can't level up.

Gondor needs to feel like the great nation of men were the large cities are. If you could do it in a map INI that would be best b/c then we could test it and see how it works.

Although (yeah, I'm a hypocrite), yoda and myrdin are right, as much as I hate to get off my pedastol (actually, I think it fell on me) the houses are rather vulnerable.

Gondor does feel like a great nation of men atm, and if you want to go into feeling, mordor should feel like it can completely crush any enemy against it 10-1. Right now it's only about 3-1 :p

Mordor should feel like you are overwhelming them with thousands more troops. Not by skill but numbers. Gondor feels and looks petty to me right now.

They aren't large and the number of buildings isn't enough. It just needs to feel more epic. I think that only Mordor and the Elves are at the right level of Epicness right now.

Level of Epicness? I like that. The elves are on the Road to Epicness. Mordor's unit sizes are rather...small for it be have reached the level of Epicness.

Not for me. The buildings need to be closer together. It is too spread out. That is why I like the house idea. I don't think it is too hard to figure out. I trust the intellect of my fellow players. Though I doubt their willingness to. If their is one thing I can count on is that people will want things easier. Well I want it harder. It is more fun to think harder. The more the game comes down to who has the better mind and strategy the better I say.
