dude for gods sake, dont begin again with the sword vs pike stuff. . . please
as for the archers, - i noticed trackers have better range, and dmg too ( better than basic orc archers ), soo i kinda cant agree on this one

as for the upgrades for the stoneworks, heres some suggestions:
Gate of Kings, Restless guards , Glory of the white citi and White Rider

Gate of kings - increases the hp of the gate, and changes skin ( like in BFME )
Restless guards -Every wall upgrade ( Towers, and Trebuchets ) that attacks enemy, will fire twice as fast (or have +1/2 range)
Glory of the white city - every enemy unit of rank lover than 2 (means all hordes without banners - all races have banner carriers), will recieve armor and dmg penalty when they are too near of the walls ( efect same as Dread Wisage - BUT no darkness flowing around the target, instead a shiny light )
White Rider - All units that are present on the walls will be resistant to fear (as long as they stay on walls)

its of course ment just for RJ maps

Those upgrades are sweet, Myrdan. Good imagination.

'Gate of Kings' doesn't make sense tbh; how about 'Gate of Endurance'.

This applies to RJ-revisited maps:

With regards to Rohan as much as Gondor, and I think Arnor as well, when you station units on the walls, they don't stay in one place. Can anything be done about this as this is a major flaw? I've experimented with the different stances, but no luck there as well. When they're put on defensive, they start moonwalking eventually down the stairs and out of the castle.

I mean what is the point of walls where units can stand on them if they don't even bother standing on them when the enemy comes?

indeed, i always disliked that when i was playing on minas tirith.. i would get archers on the wall.. but as soon as i build an postal gate somewhere and they see a target but cant shoot it yet.. they will walk of the wall and try to go trough the postal gate. Same with archer heroes.

I don't want the sword vs pike stuff to begin either. I think it's fine how it is.
I don't like the Glory of the White City upgrade, and the White Rider upgrade could be called something more like Glory of Gondor. I like the other two. I would also like an upgrade that adds a few single units guarding the fortress like the one that adds archers to the Lothlorien fortress, but guard the gate/walls.

well it were just quick suggestions :p

as for the stationar units guarding etc, i like that idea too, for i wished this to happen to isengard ( Orthanc Guard was the name for the upgrade i suggested - two uruk pikemans would walk around buildings and protect them ). i think there could be like 10 respawnable soldieras walking inside castle ( randomly ) and 10 archers ( basic ) walking on the walls ( randomly too ). they could recieve fire arrows from fortress add on, and if you would purchase Numeron stonework ( prerequirement for last upgrade - though i might have wrong name ) it would upgrae this " guardians " with FB and HA.
i think it would be pretty sweet and suit Gondor ( for the city itself was fortress at the same time ), but to code this ( random movement inside a certain area ) would be propably hell to code :(

Ahhh damnit, shouldn't have said that...the RJ guys want a totally unique mod, lol.

Nah but seriously, this might turn out to be something completely unique combining it with all the unique features of the RJ mod.

to keep units from running off of the wall just press "s". its a shortcut key for 'stop', so they will still auto-acquire and they wont move. most people dont know its there because there isnt a button for it, but it works. so that is the solution for that issue right now.

Does it just need to be pressed once?

Also, what are your thoughts on the upgrades suggested for the Stoneworker?

yea, just once; pressing it multiple times wont do anything and you can just give another order if you want to turn off the stop.

Glory of the white city seems a bit too strong...maybe just castle leadership for your own troops.

And the white rider...doesn't make sense unelss you have gandalf...and if you do, he's already got no fear leadership :)

Of course...of bfme2 maps upgrades would have to be different.

I'd actually suggest making the stoneworking gondor's econ building instead of the farm, but BoG already did that :p So instead, I'd suggest making the blacksmith a 350-400 eco building like it was in bfme1, and have upgrades purchasable at lvl 2. :)

and you are full by sensys ye ?

350-400 . . . . :)

who care that it could give upgrades at lvl two, you need resources first, and if each of these are gonna cots 400 ( which is 100 more than normal farm ), than you will throw the whole game for Gondor into one big mess

They probably said that about bfme1 too...:)

I'm rather sick of all buildings being priced the same...I think it should vary a bit again. And what if they produced 30, or 35 instead? You'd also be saving the 1500 for the blacksmith, and if bonuses are readded (which I think they will be) all your upgrades will be cheaper too.

BUT he didnt say anything about that, i might say - yeh i was thinking if they would have some kind of + i would be fine with that.
but i could act like this too - you newer said anything more about it, soo i can just speak about what i saw.

of course acting the eather way would be awkward, soo i will just act this way:

whatever - just dont screw it up soo much with " diversing " that in the end it will look more " . . . " than " yupiii "

By he you mean me? And I know that...but for example, look at lumber mills. It costs 600, only produces the same or less than normal rbs (forget which) yet people still buy it.

lumbers cost 600 ( maybe the wersion you betatester god is diferent price ),
but if the map has a LOT of wood ( most have ) then two lumbermills + like 20 orcs are wery good additional resource pile

I said it costs 600, don't know what you're getting at :)

And exactly...it has special bonuses that make it worth buying despite the extra cost. With the blacksmith you would get upgrades rather quickly and a discount on them too.

lumbermills are an alternate resource building, not the primary, so they shouldnt be changed imo. i also think blacksmiths, if implemented as resource building, should be like bfme1 where you have a choice between the cheaper, possible weaker farms for the more expensive, more useful (upgrades at lvl 2) blacksmiths. this is, afterall, a return to bfme1 rite?

well the point is - blacksmiht gave discount on infantry ( which is gondors prior ), farms too, same with furnances or statues. fast every building gave some passive thingy that you could benefit from

look at this - you got lvl 3 blacksmith, all upgrades done, well . . . what now ? it costed you much, and now you got all upgrades done too, and theres nothing more to do, soo you just build farms.

if you really want to return to BFME, than make the blacksmiths give discount on either upgrades cost, or infantry units, same goes for furnances for isen ( they had same discount possibility in old bfme )

Blacksmith discounted upgrades...wells discounted infantry. And...it still produces money for you...so, idk what you mean. Right now barely anything gives you a passive bonus.

And that's the intention myrdin...:)
