Not to mention they say "Guardians" occasionaly. So, unless you want to make new voices for them, leave them alone :)

Why not call them Iron Hills Guard? And in reference to their tech tree, Guardians are elite infantry, the Soldiers of Dale are the basic for Dwarves. Hmm, now that I think of it maybe Dwarves should change to Erebor since that is the majority of the units there for that faction.

If we're talking about illogical names, mike, the Dwarven Phalanx is worse. The definition of "phalanx" follows:

1. A compact or close-knit body of people

Now...Let's look at our in-game phalanges. They are spaced far apart, and are only one line. The name is about as illogical as the existance of fairies and flying aligators.

The diagram is of the way a real phalanx would be organized. Compare it to the one for the Dwarves.

Or get rid of the lines where they mention phalanxes and replaces them with some general "we're ready" and "attack" lines from ax throwers or guardians?

I've always hated EA for calling them phalanxes...

Perhaps, but the name 'guardian' isn't half as retarded as 'phalanx' considering that Guardians are slow heavy melee units for a turtle faction (as in it makes sense to call them guardians) while the phalanx is a name for a formation not a kind of soldier and they're not even in the formation.

For that matter, something like that should be done for all pikes. Pikes are useless in a single line anyways....

Dwarves are one of the most powerful if not the most powerful units in the game. Maybe thats why you hate them so much haha.
I like them because they are great at defense and offense.

P.s. I like mikes isengard upgrade idea for either isengard or dwarves it doesn't matter wit me but I would rather have it with isengard.

Dwarves are fun to fight against. I'm wondering if maybe axe thrower range is maybe a little too long, but that could be just me. :p

So I'm assuming that you get your guardians and then u can choose whether to make them hammer guardians, spearmen, archers, or maybe better guardians, and they'd all have the ability to throw axes except maybe the archers?
