Ax throw becoming an ability for Dwarven infantry while normal archers came in... I suppose it would be good. It reminds me of another strategy game called Praetorians that had 4 melee infantry units that would automatically throw pilums (javelins), rocks or axes (depending on the unit) before going into a fight, and I loved that game. It had a lot of the stuff that BFME2 had (squads/hordes, fire, units hiding in trees, walkable walls, and a system of stamina) and was such a great game... but I digress.

An ax throwing upgrade would be fun stuff and should have a fairly long recharge to keep it limited.

i might accept dwarven crossbowmen, but not a dwarf who tries to shot from bow loong as himself . . . wtf is bad about axethrowers, i like them since Shikary reskinned them, they look much better

And what's wrong with having bows as long as themselves? If they were to use bows that big in the mod?
Longbows were often as tall or taller then the men using them, back in the day :thumbsupsmiley:

The 13 dwarves of thorin's company had bows, and used them with some skill.

The rangers of ithilien are described as having bows as long as themselves.

but dont come to my grave and cry when the mod gets boring coz every damn faction has archers ( OMG ), dwarfs already have Dale Archers, and i see NO POINT in giving bows to dwarf unit as well

rather than the diferent model, its thing of dmg type, since archers deal pierce dmg and axethrowers deal slash dmg which every infantry does ( like swordsman for example ), thx to this axethrowers are strong vs some units and weak vs some other . . . like troll who suffer against arrows, but pretty much resist swords

Exactly; ax throwers are just axmen with a ranged attack, so why not just give the normal infantry and ax throw ability and they'd do the same thing? It would bring uniqueness in a new form in that the Dwarves would be the only faction full of ax-throwing infantry.

Settle down. Seriously, we're just throwing ideas out there.
And every faction had swordsmen. And pikemen.

They're stronger vs. pikemen then regular archers. That's pretty much it. They're weaker agaisnt pretty much everything else.

I think it would make dwarves a lot more unique, especially if mike's isengard upgrade system was put into play for them.

The system of ax throwing infantry and the turtle system of mine are enough to make the Dwarves unique imo, though I wouldn't really mind if the unit upgrade system (where Guardians, for example, can be upgraded into spearmen or whatever) was used for the Dwarves as well.

Where is the logic in calling your basic troops "Guardians"? What are they guarding? Why not call them "Warriors" or "Fighters", as that's what they actually do? :)

They're guarding the Dwarven halls and people and stuff. Yeah...

It's still better than something crappy and generic like "warriors" :)
