It's just the Demolishers that level up; dwarven catapults don't. I don't know if other battering rams level up, but it doesn't make since if they do but catapults don't.

ok mike, those are 3 examples of them using horses for messengers so perhaps a scout unit would make more sense, but i just dont see a dale cavalry unit making all that much sense if they are like rivindell caliber.

@ravnin, thats a good point, perhaps we should go through and make it so that either all siege level up or none. because currently we have trolls and mountain giants leveling up but not ents (pretty sure about this). we also apparently have demolishers leveling up but not battering rams; i dont think any catapults/trebuchets level currently but perhaps they should.
i think we could justify somehting like this with the 'crew' getting better at using it so perhaps for rams and such they did more damage or attacked faster as they level but catapults and trebuchets would get more accurate.

The Men of Dale did have access to - and used cavalry. When Thorin and friends finally made it to the Lonely Mountain, the Master of Lake-Town sent riders around the Lake to escort ponies and bring supplies to them. Later, mounted messengers were sent to the Elves of Mirkwood to ask for supplies and aid. Finally, it is known that messengers were sent - likely on horseback - to Rivendell for the Council of Elrond, and to the crowning of King Ellesar.

That's esgaroth, not dale

It's a part of Dale by the War of the Ring. Remember, Bard became ruler of Dale, I doubt he left his little city behind :shiftee:

But those were all examples of esgaroth, not dale.

Not arguing, just pointing it out :shiftee: I still think battlewagon is better for dwarves...

Rather free with the insults, are we? :shiftee:

The people in charge of esgaroth stayed there, and a bunch of new people under bard (i think anyway, i get them so confused) went to dale. So, they wouldn't necessarily be the same.

No, I'm fairly sure the master left after Smaug. I think the people didn't like him or something.......

The 'Master of Lake-Town' took the gold given him by Bard and Dain to rebuild said-town-on-the-lake for his own, then fled with it. He died alone in the wilderness.

Maybe, but it doesn't matter. Dale was (re)formed even after that.

After, yes. Which I why I said "Bard and Dain".

As for the Esgaroth-Dale issue..Dale was reformed as an independent kingdom, and Esgaroth was rebuilt further upriver to be closer to it and Erebor.

By that you mean aligned to it? Well, yes, it was...in a manner of speaking. The Men of Esgaroth were of kinship with the Men of Dale, and were subservient to them.
