*ignoring what jsut happened above*
i dont think gloin needs anything except perhaps some way to not get decimated by trolls. other than that hes good for a cheap hero.
Me too. I was kind of thinking a late/mid-level siege-weapons leadership for him. I definitely stole that idea from Mike in the Angmar thread so don't give me credit for originality. But I think I might be off with this one.
Other than that I pretty much like him the way he is except what you mentioned.

not too late if hes getting another power because he already has a lvl 10 power (earthquake thingy). perhaps a power like that should be given to a later game hero because i dont want him (gloin) to get a price increase; he fits the role of an early-game hero very well imo. and before anyone suggests it (if they were thinking about it) gimli doesnt need a siege weapon leadership. hes fine
I definitely wouldn't want Gimli to get a siege-leadership. It just wouldn't suit him.
I guess I always viewed Gloin as a late-game hero.... Which is why I suggested another power. Can you tell I'm power-crazy?
One thing though (this might be in the wrong thread), you can't revive Gloin in the Iron Hills mission in the campaign if he died. Was this intended?

I say Dain should get it..he should be very leadership-based, being the essential High-King of the Dwarves and all.

Idk...don't play dwarves much. He's still fairly strong against buildings, isn't he?
Oops, didn't read this page, was still on last when I posted.'
Just wanna mention, not every hero has to be fully decked out with abilities. In bfme1 only gandalf and aragorn had 6 powers, and also only those heroes had level 10 powers.

But one thing about gloin bugs me, he bears massive huge siege hammer, yeth he kills just one unit per attack ?, give him small AoE pls, and change his dmg type ( hero, or blunt, slash, whatever he has ) into siege type, hes mainly thought as siege hero.
btw, the new power could be
" Ironhills Enginering " - lvl unknown - summon 2 battlewagons ( since people say that these guys remain in game ), one ironhill catapult, and one demolisher

"From this seal shall arise the doom of men,"
"who, in their arrogance, sought to wield our fire as their own."
"Blindly they build their kingdoms upon stolen knowledge and conceit."
"Now they shall be consumed by the very flame they sought to control."
"Let the echoes of doom resound across this wretched world, that all who live may hear them and despair."
"Tremble, mortals, and despair! Doom has come to this world!"

But with the spell i suggested i think i might hit the nails head, since i heared voices here speaking about making gloin into more siege capable hero.

I don't mind his model at all, by the way. I think it's very suiting and like Dalf said, his first power has a fast recharge timer.
Umm, if anything (like Yoda said) a siege leadership should go to Dain if it's pussible. I wouldn't want it to be a huge increase in anything. Maybe like a %10 increase in range and a %20 increase in speed. Siege is powerful enough as it is IMO, so I think that instead of increasing its attack we should look at other ways to enhance siege weaponry, only if it's possible though. Hope you know what I meant in that last sentence.

Anyway, am I the only one who thinks giving +10% range to Demolishers would be awkward?
If you want to make seige more powerful, give Demolishers the oil barrel thing that catapults and battlewagons have, and give a Deploy type power to Catapults.
Gloin doesn't need anything else. If anything, I'd take away his level 10 power and give him a tad more attack speed. His power is useless anyway, because by the time you get to level 10 with a mid-game hero you've probably already won.

I'm not talking about their siege...I'm talking about their trample. 6 of rob's completely devastated a FU uruk army.

Gloin has only 3 powers right now, taking away just one more, and itll look " wtf ! "
i must ask myself yoda - what an idiot ( no offense, its more like question to think about, with none real sense ), would throw FU U. army vs 6 demolishers ?. They can trample anything - btw makes sense, since they are slow, most people manages to awoid being trampled, (and then theres the thing of weight - huge stone ram, mounted on such construction, being pulled by two "boar " like creatures, well im 100% I wouldnt want to fall beneath its wheels.
