i knew they were strong but id never seen them take out a fu army of something comparable to uruks! they definitely need to be nerfed then. actually, they never deccelerate when they are trampling do they? every other unit that tramples does (as far as i know) so perhaps making them deccelerate would solve the problem...

sorry to disapoint you, but demolisher is classified as ram in this game :D (cough cough owned cough :) )
just joking man, but all "contact " siege is a bit too strong ( 3 hits of any mellee siege tear down lvl 3 gondor barracks )

Well, they should. They can't attack units at all and are slow, so the only point in getting them is if they destroy buildings quickly.

they're too hard to take down. the only thing they are weak against is pikes as far as i know and it makes them way op. their armor just needs to be dropped some and they need to be made more vulnerable to arrows and perhaps other siege (trolls, trebuchets, etc.). especially the demolishers because 2 attack trolls can take overa minute to take out a single demolisher by themselves and it would take ridiculous numbers of archers to take one down in any reasonable amount of time.
imo their attack shouldnt be nerfed if their armor is.

in the original game they are weak vs swords as well (they can hurt them better than anything else) - which makes sense, they just chop the battering ram into pieces.
I think swords should be mady ( as they were ) strongest vs siege equipment, swords or upgraded arrows, like fire arrows.

Yay, you did my post for me :p . May I please add that, if it's possible, to give siege a weakness to fire as well? Seeing how most of the siege is made out of wood in the game, it would make some sense. I guess that giants wouldn't share this weakness. I don't know this is jsut an idea to throw around..

You guys missed my point :p Demolishers are op because of trample, not actual damage.

Cav is the counter to siege.

yoda i think cawalery uses slash dmg, at least the most of them i think ( dunno if rohirrim have pierce since they wield spears ), soo logically swordsman should be strong vs siege as well.
*cawalery is counter for siege, is wery poor reason, as we agreed that siege needs to lower armor owerall

Just demolishers. Other rams are slow and fairly easy to destroy atm, especially since they can't fight back. Except for demolishers, rams are fine imo.

I don't know about the rams in the current public beta. For the Helm's Deep mission, it's pretty hard for 3 group of FU yeomen archers to take out a single battering ram without the gates taking a couple of hits. But that's just the current public beta though...

Like I said, cav is the counter for siege, not archers.

Myrdin, I'm fairly certain they do their own damage.

agreed dojob, demolishers are the biggest problem atm.
@scryer: you should always have at least some sort of non-ranged units lying-in-wait, if you will, to kill siege when you are defending. archers should not be given the ability to do good damage against siege (except for monsters) but i wouldnt mind a slight increase in the damage upgraded archers do.
