Just cross the star wars universe with middle earth and we'll see what kind of wierd stuff would happen. Could anyone think of a more awesome battle between Saruman and Count Dooku!! :lol:

*Elven voice screams* : Obi-Wan-Kenobi is dead!

Maybe axe throwers could be renamed and then you could just choose if you want archer(longer range, faster shooting)
or axe thrower(resistance to arrows, maybe larger dmg)

Or just throw me with axe if someone has said this before :lol:

Ax thrower could work as skirmishers kind of like ranged melee.

Axe throwing could be a rechargeable power gained at a level. It doesn't make any sense for the dwarves to have a unit set only to axe throwing. First off, axes don't fit so easily into quivers like arrows do and carrying around all those axes is improbable.

An ugrade for throwing axes would be great!

From what I've heard, the Frankish warriors used to carry two or three axes into battle. They could be thrown and recollected mid-battle, and so each warrior was generally able to keep one ax with them at all times. So, that would be in keeping with the whole ax-throwing upgrade idea.

whatever happened to the idea to give all dwarven infantry an axe throwing power similar to gimli's (dont remember if it was an upgrade or what) and to get rid of the axe throwers. as i recall it got a relatively warm welcome from just about everyone (including myself).

I like it. It gives the dwarves the ability to break a units attack before it hits. This would be most effective against cav. In real life hitting them with all those heavy projectiles right before impact would cause the formation to break and let you carve it up, but the game engine EA made kind of sucks in that respect.

Overhauling the dwarves will most likely be next after 1.06 is out. They hopefully will have a complete face-lift in 1.06, but gameplay will be adjusted later. We'll see when we get there which way we'll take this. Luckily, outside of the Hobbit and dwarven heroes they play a role later in the campaign and can be adjusted later. Elves just need all of their work right now seeing as this is just the prep work for their role in the campaign(s).

Well, if you're still looking for Ideas on Dwarven units, I have a couple. How about something like stone throwers? If that's possible to use like the Hobbit rock throw animations. Maybe give them a power at level 2 or 3, that makes the full battalion throw at the same time and add a knockback effect to the attack.

I don't like this idea. Idea of dwarves throwing stones... not in my screen :p
