goblins with shields ? . . . well they had shields in moria, but still - not used to that lol
"Let this scar signify the first blow against the mortal world."
"From this seal shall arise the doom of men,"
"who, in their arrogance, sought to wield our fire as their own."
"Blindly they build their kingdoms upon stolen knowledge and conceit."
"Now they shall be consumed by the very flame they sought to control."
"Let the echoes of doom resound across this wretched world, that all who live may hear them and despair."

"Tremble, mortals, and despair! Doom has come to this world!"

yeh, its kinda fun to watch em, with shield made from . . . anything ? :thumbsupsmiley:
but it lacks such " wild feral " touch, some skins wrapped over the shields, maybe some " goblin mojo " amulets, cutt heads arms, fingers, as trinkets, you know, more barbaric, cannbilstic look that fits their nature.

Meh, who's gonna notice in a game? Waste of time, imo.

We're talking of Yoda here, who has an extraordinarily high IQ.

It would be really cool, but is of little importance.

Hey there, I have a few suggestions for the Goblins :p ...

1. Resized Cave Troll and Mountain Giant
Cave Trolls aren't currently even close to the movies or the books. They need to be made much bigger, and the Mountain Giant............ I thin you need to emphisize the GIANT... They should be a size to when you see them, you first thought is "Awww F@#%" :p ...

2. Goblin Wolf Riders
The Wolves from Agmar should be maid buildable by the Goblins, mounted and unmounted. In the Hobbit only a couple times where the Wargs refered to as "Wargs". Most of the time, they were referred to as "Wolves...

3. Cave Uruks
Have that replace the Half-Troll units, create them as either Cave Uruk swordsmen or Cave Uruk spearmen (As what stabbed Frodo in the books)... Half Trolls are.......... interesting, but I think Cave Uruks would give the game a more book-like feel...

Thanks again for hearing me out ;) ...

Agreed with the Uruks...though I think the name 'Moria Uruks' would work better. But that's really just a different model and naming thing.

As for the Trolls and Giants...they seem alright to me. But it isn't my decision to make :p

I think the way the Uruk should look, make it look like a green Uruk with the facial features of a Goblin (Big ears, little nose, huge eyes), but I agree in the name. Moria Uruk sounds better...

Please, no green...drop the fantasy elements. IMO, it should be like the Black Uruks seen in the films; well-armoured for Orc-kind, relying on both brute force and strategy in combat.

I'm already in the process of making a heavy armor version of the Goblins from Moria...i'll put it up...soon...

Anyways here's my opinion on what the Goblin faction should be like. I'm not exactly lore friendly so don't hate me prease D:

Goblin Spawning Pit Place (Forgot the name):
Tier 1: Goblin Swordsman
Tier 1: Goblin Fire Arrow Archers
Tier 2: Goblin Pikemen
Tier 2: Goblin Shadow Trackers - Goblin equivalent of the Gondorian Rangers with upgradable poison arrows. Has extremely low health and armor but high vision and movement speed + damage. \
Tier 3: Goblin Blade Fanatic - Sort of like a miniature armored version of the Uruk Hai Beserker with Katars instead of sword and shield. The helmet is alot different too, if anybody has every played The Third Age on the Xbox you'd know what i'm talking about. Perhaps come in a horde of 5?

Troll Spawning Place
Tier 1: Cave Troll
Tier 2: Armored Cave Troll - I was thinking a cave troll but cladded messily with sheets of hammered metal and a helmet similar to the goblin swordsman's helmet. I'd imagine the stats for this to be the same as the Mordor Attack Troll.
Tier 3: Mountain Giants

Beast's Lair
Tier 1: Wild Warg Horde
Tier 2: Goblin Warg Marauders
Tier 3: White Warg Chieftain - A powerful Warg that eats cavalry for lunch. Elite anti cavalry anyone? Comes in massive groups of ONE.

Shrine of Shadow and Flame: A poorly constructed goblin shrine that resembles something like the Balrog
Tier 1: Goblin Shaman - Follows the same system as the Angmar wizards. One Shaman, a bunch of goblin laborers for his spells.

I like everything but the last one. The larger emphasis on the Wargs I really like. Tolkien clearly states that the Goblins worked very closely with the Wargs. In fact the Wargs were highly intelligent. The Goblins could talk with them.

That sounds to much like something from World of Watercraft. Cave Uruks would be much cooler then Goblin Blade Fanatics :thumbsupsmiley:

I don't see any relation to WoW in that >.> World of Warcraft Goblins were engineers and technicians. Also I want to include the Rogmuls? from LOTRO, the miniature balrog looking things. They look really cool! I'd love to model one >>

I mean they don't seem like something from Lord of the Rings, there are just too many "fantasy elements". I have never hear of Rogmuls, why have little Balrogs when you can have big ones :thumbsupsmiley:

At this point in Middle Earth history such things would be gone. Middle Earth gets closer and closer to ours as time progresses.
