Yeah Gandalfs powers are full... you could always remove that word of power deal - the power that hurts you AND your enemies :p

The Dark is patient...

The Dark is generous...

And it always wins...

But in the heart of its power lies weakness...

It takes but a single candle to hold it back...

Love is more then a candle...

Love can ignite the stars.

I know we've got a load of work to do still, but how about -eventually- replacing the peasants with a realistic unit? I mean, farmers fighting with saws and hammers? What's up with that EA? Lauri has a good concept for a Rohan militia:

Not saying we should use this particular unit, just giving ideas for replacing them.

Well in the original game, peasants were just early spammers, but their main function was repairing buildings (i'm not sure if they still have that ability in S.E.E.).

Refering back to the discussion on Aragorn's Army of the Dead summon, perhaps it could be more like a 'flood' power. In the movie, the AOTD sweeps out forward at first (before splitting later) destroying everything in its path. Maybe make the path be a little longer than 'flood's, and then you could rename the power to something like "Wave of the Dead" (bad example I know but you get what I mean :thumbsupsmiley: ) Also if this happens you could keep the powerpoint power of summoning the whole army.

I don't think I will do any work on AoD actually. I have far too many other things that are more important... I kinda like them the way they are.

I know we've got a load of work to do still, but how about -eventually- replacing the peasants with a realistic unit? I mean, farmers fighting with saws and hammers? What's up with that EA? Lauri has a good concept for a Rohan militia:

I won't remove a fully functional unit like Peasants. Espescially not since we've polished them this much. I've also given them varied shield skins in 4.7. Looks awesome. I will remove the HA upgrade though and only keep the Draft. They will be spam units (30 secs).

i wonder if boys will be fighters in this..

Boys will be boys! Lol... No seriously. After a while I understood what you refered to. The boy model is as far as I know, not fully functional. I guess someone at EA decided that it was unethical to let a child fight in a game, and I kinda agree. So we wont ad the boy to the horde.

Well in the original game, peasants were just early spammers, but their main function was repairing buildings (i'm not sure if they still have that ability in S.E.E.).

Yes they can repair in SEE!

well i had a real army of peasants, but they are completely useless because ALL melee units are useless ,and since they are even more weak all that they do is cause lagg because of their number.Do youz have any idea of how to make soldiers stronger again?

1) The mod is not balanced yet
2) Spam units and similar are good for slowing enemy down, if nothing else. Keep them from clustering up at resources and other structures

But mostly, the mod still lacks a lot of polishing for balance

If you guys only knew how the peasants had saved my butt in so many games. They are quite useful even more so than any other spammer unit, because they are built at the farms, you could build as many battalions of em as you have farms in the time it takes to build just one.

Well... Why do you think the people of Rohan were fleeing from their villages, and later to Helm's Deep while mostly hiding in the Glittering Caves? Because those people couldn't fight, and the ones that could fight got some armour and weapons from the army of Rohan. Militia ok, but peasants... Nah, I don't like them at all. But it's Nazguls decision of course :D.

And now it's just as simple as a click of a button! Well, no, actually, it's as simple as buying an upgrade from an armory and then a click of a bu-....... Well, wait, first you have to build the peasants from the far-..... No, wait, you have to build a mini-fortress, but then you-......no, you need 5,000 dollars in order to build-.....so you have to build a bunch of far-.....ah, crap. :D

That confused post makes a very good point actually :D. When you've got enough money to buy the Golden Hall, it's already mid/late game, and peasants become quite useless. Maybe if we had the option to choose a fortress (Rohan/Gondor) at the start of the skirmish... This would give you several strategic advantages/disadvantages because each of the two factions is different, especially now we have more Rohan units. I think RJ did that for his Easterling/Rhun factions.

But of course, Rohan is considered to be a minifaction, so maybe this suggestion is useless =).

Sorry my firend, but it is. Rohan will never be a stand alone faction. If nothing else, then cause the Golden Hall is no fortress and has no upgrades or expansions.

I understand your point about the cost though, but that's a n easy fix that is already planned. I'll just remove the pre-req to have Golden Hall and make them available from start. That is the idea behind all spam units - they will spawn quick and early from resource structures or equalient, but in limited numbers.

Golden Hall will still be needed for the Draft though, but that will make them a lot better in late game. Golden Hall now also have the Royal Guard, so it will motivate the cost more
